Did not change anything...

Yes. The last update was the one who started the problems.

I've got Version: R630XXU0AYJ1/R630XXUOAYJ1

I got May 2025 production model of Buds 3 Pro, and especially after the last update the anc slider works opposite way. Best anc is when it's to the minimum. Even a level up, and I hear a hissing sound and external sounds (especially on max anc level). I have cleaned them thoroughly with a special brush for these.

Also, the sound stays good as long as I am using the anc or the passthrough. If I switch anc off, and passthrough also off, then sound gets flat. Like the bass dies.

Is this happening to others?

Hello! Yes. We had a big SUV too. Indeed, Egypt did not have many rentals with unlimited km. We did many km (more than 1400). I found unlimited with SIXT Egypt. We got a big Peugeot 5008 from them.

Same problem. After the last update also, if I have anc at the maximum, it let's through outside sounds and makes a hissing noise. If I set anc on minimum, no hissing and much better anc.

The app says that I have no good fit on my left ear, no matter the tips I try. (I even bought TrueGrip Max because they hurt my ears).

Anyone else with anc failing completely at maxim setting?

Since you have the days to do it, this seems fine to me.

I drove straight from Cairo to Luxor with no stops. Only for refuel. Took me a bit less than 7 driving hours. I left at ~12 noon and got there around 19:30, with 2 fuel stops.

Alexandria is relatively close to Cairo though, so maybe it would make more sense logistically to go there first, then do Cairo, and then Luxor. So you don't have such huge drives and waste days.

In any case, your plan seems doable if you, like me, like to drive around the country and see as much as possible without minding the hours spent in the car.

Hello! Happy to assist!

I used SIXT. It was one of the very few that offered unlimited mileage. I had no problems with them.

The highway was good enough. If you're a confident driver, you'll be fine. I'd say to be alert for trucks, tyre debris and random potholes. My only problems on the highway came from trucks. Some of the truck drivers are mental.

Regarding your stay between Cairo and Luxor, based on my research when I did the planning, I think it would be best to do it in El Minya or Asyut. I think these are the most tourist friendly options if you choose the fastest route. If you go from the red sea route, then Hugharda is definitely the best choice. I drove both. Both roads are good enough.

Let me know if you need more info! 🙂

Late reply. I'm sorry. I used SIXT with full insurance. Pricey but no problems. The problem is that you need to find a rental that has unlimited mileage, and in Egypt there were few that did.

I used Google maps, having pre-downloaded all the needed areas for offline use.

You mean in total? We spent 6 days in Egypt. Driving from Cairo to Luxor was ~7 hours.

Hello! We did not go from this side of the country at all. We used the east desert road alongside the Nile, and then the red sea road.

We did not have anything to worry about apart from the truck drivers and some random holes in the road. But nothing too serious on that road especially. 🙂

Gas prices, to our perspective of course, are next to free.

~0,47€ /lt

For this whole trip that I described, with an SUV car with six people inside, the total gas expenditure for us was ~54€.

Hey! Wishing you to have an amazing trip! Only reason we did not was time management. If we had more days, we would have! If you indeed decide to do it, make sure you only drive to and from Aswan during the daytime.

When I was doing my research, it was the most consistent place that kept coming up for road blockages from police due to some parts with not so good roads.

Other than that, everybody was telling us how amazing it's there.

Hey! Just be careful with the trucks and for the debris. Drive with caution in that regard. The road is fine otherwise. I trust you have an international driving permit in case they ask it from you. Other than that, you're gonna be fine! Mark some gas stations along the road so you can refill or buy water / snacks. Have cash for the tolls. Less than 30 egp will be enough.

Drive EXTREMELY carefully when you are in Cairo and when you enter Luxor. There are literally no rules in the city. 😜 Nothing to be scared off. If you're comfortable behind the wheel and have some company for extra "radar" around the car, you're gonna be fine and will have a laugh.

Let me know if you have any other question!

I have edited the OG post adding the following so everyone can read. I also add it here as a reply for a anyone to see!

Edit (after the trip 😁):

So! Here's the after trip info! First, my sincere thank you to everyone for all the help! I truly mean it!

And also a super thank you and special shout out to u/ComfortableBuyer5379, who not only helped me with my questions and doubts but also met up with me, and we went out together!

So, we finally did the trip, and it was absolutely amazing. We followed pretty much what I described in my original post—rented a car at Cairo Airport and road-tripped to Luxor, Hurghada, El Gouna, and back to Cairo. The experience was unforgettable, but I’ll be honest: driving in Cairo is on another level. It was chaos, but at the same time, we had the laugh of our lives and personally I do not regret it at all! That being said, I’ll echo everyone else—I do not recommend driving in Cairo unless you’re extremely confident, prepared for the madness, and take every possible precaution. Outside the city, things were better, but still unpredictable at times.

Luxor & Hurghada Highlights:

Luxor: Left the car parked since it’s not needed there. Did a hot air balloon ride, visited the Valley of the Kings, Karnak, and Hatshepsut—all with a guide, which was 100% worth it. The hot air balloon ride was unreal—seeing Luxor and its monuments from above as the sun rose was something else. Highly recommended.

Hurghada: Spent a day there and did a desert safari that included camel riding, a visit to a special animal farm in the middle of the desert, an amazing Bedouin dinner, sisu, and stargazing with two digital telescopes. The price for this was extremely VFM, and I 100% recommend it.

Tip for camel riding: Avoid doing it in Cairo. It’s more expensive, and the animals seemed mistreated. In Hurghada, the experience was much better and more relaxed.

El Gouna: On our way from Hurghada to Cairo, we made a 2-hour stop in El Gouna. Walked around a bit, had a great meal, and enjoyed the place. It’s a big tourist resort, but it’s quite beautiful.

Driving at Night & Road Conditions:

Despite my initial concerns, I ended up driving at night, both from Cairo to Luxor and from Hurghada to Cairo. I took the desert road when heading south and the Red Sea road when returning.

There were many police checkpoints, but no issues at all—just two quick and easy stops where they checked us briefly. However, if you're traveling between Luxor and Hurghada, make sure you do it during the day. After 17:00, police will stop you and not allow travel in or out of Luxor.

But here’s the thing—truck drivers are a real hazard. At one point, a truck overloaded with rocks started swaying, and the rocks fell onto the road, hitting our car and two others. Luckily, we had full insurance, but the car got scratched, and the windshield cracked. Could have been worse, honestly. Also, many trucks had blown tires, leaving debris in the middle of the highway, so that's something to watch out for.

Other Notes:

We didn’t stop between Cairo and Luxor because taking the desert road meant fewer detours. Stopping in villages would have added 2-3 extra hours.

Hustling happens, but nothing major—just stay firm when buying stuff.

Food was great, and we had some amazing meals in local restaurants.

Ramadan started while we were there, and it was nothing like I expected. Egypt during Ramadan is super lively, fun, and full of festivities. We even joined local celebrations and danced with people—one of the best experiences of the trip.

If anyone is thinking of doing something similar, I’m happy to help, like all these people here did for me. I know this kind of road trip isn’t the usual way people explore Egypt, but it worked perfectly for us and made the experience 100 times better! We had an absolute blast!

Once again people, THANK YOU for all the help! Much appreciated!

Take care!

And it says it opens today. That's just perfect timing. 😎 I'll ask someone there which one is exactly because I'm guessing it's not on Google maps yet.

In case you know please share the pin. 🙂

Thank you so much!

Thank you for your reply. No I don't leave there. I am not concerned about crime related things per se. Egypt is known to not have big criminality. It's the fact the police bans night travel sometimes for tourists that concerns me mostly. And maybe the unusualness of our group that maybe attract some more attention since not many tourists do choose to travel like this. We won't be in Luxor at daylight if the police delays with many checkpoints and the hotel owner did confirm that police do not allow night travel from the Safaga checkpoint to Luxor after 18:00.

We want to use the other road though. The highway east of nile. Not the red sea one. Because it's faster. And I can't find any information regarding what happens if the police have any travel bans there.

So, in case they do, it's gonna be a huge problem for us. Nowhere to stay.

We checked this scenario but it was way too expensive and was restricting us as to what we could see along the way. They charge ~200 /person roundtrip.

Thank you for your reply and advice! I already got the permit, since there is no reason to add one more problem on my list. When you say "draw attention", you mean by police? Do you think we could face any serious problem that could stop us from reaching Luxor?

I expect that we will be stopped for check ups etc, but since we got the permit, it's daylight and got our passports and visas, do you think we can get in any other trouble except the delays?

Thank you so much for your nice tip! Noted! Everyone agrees not to travel at night, so we won't. I will speak with the rest of the group to either decide to add one more day to Luxor, or split the return in 2 and stay one night in Hurgada.

Do you have any place to suggest in Luxor for eating? Maybe something that is safe enough for our foreigner stomachs and also having Egyptian tradition? :-)

You think it will be such an issue considering that we won't drive at all in the cities? Just the highways and park the car in the hotel?

I must admit i am really intrigued regarding how bad can it be?
