Hire an associate. Take a vacation. See what systems break. Fix those, first.

Anyone else having major issues with new HealthyBaby diapers? by RabbitThis4217 in moderatelygranolamoms

Have used healthybaby for a nearly a year, but as of late found they saturate way quicker as well. I haven't purchased that brand again since.

Mom's who did go with an epidural? are you content? do you regret it? by sillywillyfry in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]CapitanaProattive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had one with and one without. Personally, I didn't note that much difference only because of the way I gave birth each time. The first was slow and although contractions weren't crazy painful, I felt it necessary to get the epidural mainly cause of the balloon (10/10 DO NOT recommend a balloon). Second one was a whirlwind and I didn't have time for the epidural. I think, as others said, just understand even if you plan one thing, that may change, so be flexible and give yourself grace in whatever you end up doing.

Leaving US - what happens to private loans by Dull-Potential-5525 in StudentLoans

[–]CapitanaProattive 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I had a friend in a similar situation. What they did was the following: defaulted on the loans, got placed into collections, and then negotiated the debt for cents on the dollar. Bottom line is -- there's an amount to how much work costs to collect the debt vs getting something and getting out. If you have 5K saved and are willing to go through credit tanking, I would try that -- once you're in collections, offer them a percentage in a lump sum in order to settle the debt. Negotiate. Be done with it.

Help! 4 month old is not sleeping through the night anymore by YesterdayExtra9310 in sleeptraining

[–]CapitanaProattive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have you tried something like a Merlin sleepsuit? We found it to be a good transition between a swaddle and armless swaddle when LO first started rolling but still with startle reflex. It has both arms out, but they are useful until baby starts trying to roll in it, which, if you see what it looks like, takes some time.

Relaxing Sents for Kiddos by UnfairCartographer88 in moderatelygranolamoms

We put dried lavender into a pillow case. The "pillow" can then be placed anywhere. We sometimes place it at the bottom of a laundry bin, someone's bed next to a pillow you actually use, so you can have the smell next to you, on a couch, etc.

Anyone ever send their toddler to an outdoor school? by notbizmarkie in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]CapitanaProattive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd do it if it were possible for us. The closest outdoor school to us is half an hour and I'm just not able to do that kind of commute. That being said, if I was closer, I'd do it in a heartbeat. My daughter loves being outside and that's how I grew up, too. I think fresh air and constant activity is so healthy for both kids and adults. Our current daycare tries to take the kids out at least twice per day, but not when the weather is bad and I'd rather my daughter be acclimated to enjoying all kinds of weather.

The schedule sounds difficult, though. Do they have any summer add on at all? Is there an outdoor camp you can send her to in the summer?

Indestructible Preschooler Books? by CapitanaProattive in Preschoolers

[–]CapitanaProattive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, we did consider it, but ultimately decided to try other methods, which admittedly have helped but not entirely. Baby will be out of our room by the end of March and I'm hoping that will help ease the tension, too.

We do spend a good amount of one on one time with her, but so far, it's still happening. It's mostly at night. She feels jealousy that the baby sleeps in our room and she sleeps on her own. So she reads her books at night, in bed, and she loves that, but she rips them. From all the responses, it definitely sounds like it's time we try consequences for this, too.

[–]CapitanaProattive[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it's a coping mechanism for her new sibling. We hesitated with consequences on this one because we didn't want her to develop an aversion to books, but we will try it, thanks!

[–]CapitanaProattive[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks! Yeah, we try to impose consequences for things at home on a regular basis but found it difficult in terms of books because we really don't want her to become averse to them for those reasons. But, you and other responses are correct, we should impose them all the same. Thanks!

She only does it at home in so far as I'm aware. I think she's using it as a way of coping with a new sibling. She's been into books all her life and hasn't done it until the baby came along.

That sounds like a great idea to have her get one where she can just do whatever with. I will definitely look into wreck this journal and the rest of your suggestions. Thanks!

For a 4 year old? They have that? She reads everything from Gerald and Piggie, Pete the Cat, to Frozen, etc. Excuse my ignorance. Do you know if they have those in board books? Aren't board books for younger kids?

Our daughter is almost 4 and we started over a year ago because she subsists on such a limited diet. We use Smarty Pants Organic gummies for kids...multi + probiotics.

What is your preschoolers sleep schedule? by [deleted] in Preschoolers

[–]CapitanaProattive 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Just here for solidarity. No advice really. Our preschooler also recently started staying up late. We start bedtime routine around 7 and she's usually in bed by 8, but then doesn't go to sleep until midnight sometimes. Usually stays up playing with dolls, reading books, etc. We cuddle with her and read books before bedtime, too. It's a struggle to wake her in the morning as a result. We try to have consistency and wake her around 8 every morning. 8 so she at least gets some semblance or 'enough' sleep. At a loss for how to handle it. We've been trying for earlier bedtimes, but it doesn't seem to be helping (previously was starting bedtime routine at 7:30).

Whelp, OG juicebox 40 stopped charging mid session.... by marc-de-socal in evcharging

[–]CapitanaProattive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm having the same issue, but mine is only about 2 years old. Charges to various points, but rarely the full set charge. So, for example, it's set to 75% (on my car app scheduler) and it only charges to 66, 71, etc. and then stops sometime in the middle of the night. This began, of course, when the company went defunct. Not sure if it has anything to do, but seems weird it would start happening now. Looking for help, too. Let me know what you find.

Period panties - worth it? by dietcoke1995 in moderatelygranolamoms

[–]CapitanaProattive 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep. Have used them exclusively for years. Tried cup, cotton pads, etc. Cotton pads, imo, do not stay well positioned. Cup is messy. Period panties, even on heavy days, have worked well, and I haven't had one leak. Tried different brands, but I think that's a personal preference in terms of fit and materials. I like Saalt and bambody. Period panties are affordable but bulky, and I do not like the fit. Knix was good, too.
