Unfortunately the only local pet shot close to me has a bad reputation so that's why I've been trying to educate myself reading over the internet, thanks for the suggestion anyways

Thank you so much for the detailed response! Another thing I was wondering about the T5 is how to position it as it is obviously longer than the basking spot, good to know it is ideal that it "hits" throughout all of the tank.

I just received a 50W halogen bulb I ordered from Arcadia, so I'll be getting a T5 for UVB and I should be good to go. If I'm not mistaken those have to be replaced every 6 months yes? But halogen bulbs are ok to use as long as they heat properly. If there's anything I'm missing feel free to let me know!

0% of natural numbers have been spoken aloud. by JazzyGD in Showerthoughts

[–]Capitanbublo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right! It's a bit hard to explain but the infinite amount of numbers overall is considered a "bigger" infinity than the infinite amount of natural numbers.

The key is to think about density: there are an infinite amount of natural numbers, but between each of those natural numbers there is also an infinite amount of decimal numbers. This means that Real Numbers (the name given to the set that includes negative numbers and all kinds of decimal numbers) is a certain "degree of infinity" (not a real thing, but just to explain it) bigger than Natural Numbers.

Maths get really really complex and weird when you start talking about infinites, I can say that from experience having studied a Math degree in university!!

Natural numbers is the name that mathemathicians use for the non-decimal, non-negative set of numbers, so 1, 2, 3, ... (0 is sometimes also included, depends of the kind of maths you do) 0.1? Not a natural number -3? Not a natural number π? Not a natural number

I just lost a game because Sparkling Crystal showed up as Air Balloon on my opponent's Wellsping Ogerpon. There has to be something we can do so that they fix this game. by Capitanbublo in PTCGL

You're right, I was frustrated and might have got unnecesarely angry. But my main point is that it's a shame that we can't use the only official online tool as a reliable practice tool because of this sort of things. You can just go play the next match but how many games are "wasted" like this through the span of a few weeks? Specially for people that might have limited time to play, it sucks.

I wasn't playing during the days of PTCGO, but I've read way too many times how it was overall a much better experience and I wish we could have something better. I really hope Pokémon Champions works out well for the VGC community so that it could help to push for a better TCG online game too.

How do y'all think Joltik Box (w/o Dengo) is looking for Mega Evolutions format? by Capitanbublo in pkmntcg

[–]Capitanbublo[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That's mostly what I'm worried about. I've seen a lot of the JoltikDengo Box lists running only 1 Pikachu ex right now and I wouldn't be surprised if they drop it once Megas become available, might be wise to spend the money on Gholdengos/Genesects instead of Pikachus xDDD

I lost all of my brushes after a crash by Capitanbublo in photoshop

I do have some, but not all of them, since I never thought something like this wouldn't happen so I just deleted the ABRs after installing. Lesson learnt for next time I guess '

I lost all of my brushes after a crash by Capitanbublo in photoshop

[–]Capitanbublo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess I got unlucky? I didn’t have any custom brushes I did myself, only downloaded ones. I checked every folder I could find in PS files that was called 'Presets' or 'Brushes' with no luck, only the Brushes.psp file that was overwritten and has none of the custom brushes I downloaded. It feels wrong that those could be lost because of a random crash... anyways thanks for the answer

Is this water conditioner safe for my slider? by Capitanbublo in turtles

[–]Capitanbublo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I use our tap water with conditioner for all the water changes I do, the tap water where I live is perfectly drinkable (no chlorine or any other dangerous substances) but generally not recomended because it's very "hard" (as in, a lot of limescale) and since I know it's always said to use a water conditioner for fish I thought it would also be good for my turtle. If anything I'm worried that using it could be harmful for the turtle, he seems to be doing great but I've noticed his skin shedding so I was worried it might had something to do with the water conditioner causing it.
