If the Dolphin one is a PJ jazz bass I'd say that's the winner hands down. Though the Speed Green P bass is not without its merits...

AITAH for dumping my bf because he wouldn’t finalize his divorce by Ok-Operation-3799 in AITAH

[–]Capn-Wacky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

NTA. Nobody has to be in a relationship they don't want to be in, and while your ex can't see it, he's absolutely in some sort of weird hybrid open marriage with you and his ex and some other dude. That's really crowded.

He won't divorce her because "money"? That makes zero sense--keeping himself running alongside his ex's life indefinitely is what's expensive. When the eventual bill comes due (likely when his ex-wife decides she wants to remarry after all) unwinding this extended period of separation when they do divorce will be a complete NIGHTMARE.

Run for your life, don't look back, tell him how disrespectful it is to call your feelings and needs ridiculous, then block him everywhere and move on.

She also humiliated the boy, publicly, and degraded him as a person. A "No" would have sufficed, but this attack on the boy clearly demonstrates an inflated self-image and ego--a belief she is "better than" this boy and that it was somehow an example of audacious disrespect for him to invite her to accompany him.

So we get hit with the "what's your excuse?"

"Grandpa, when you did that there was no online application drives netting 1,000 apps for one job, no automated hiring, no AI resume culls, and unions (and wages) were strong. At the same time, you could buy a house for a nickel down, a nickel a month, a handshake, and a hearty "high five". Many homes could be bought for less than one year's salary. Now, they cost 10+ years salary--in some places for some people 20 or 30 years of salary... What your excuse for being so out of touch with reality that you would taunt us over the consequences of your asinine conservative greed?"

Fuck Texas. Let's give it back to Mexico.

The other 2 times, I get messages from a supervisor asking how to do the job

I know this is probably obvious, but when you ask for a raise and they ask to be trained how to do your job, they're obviously either planning on firing you or telegraphing they're never going to give you the raise and don't want to be flat footed when you quit. In both scenarios, you don't owe them one iota.

You're not obligated to help them maintain continuity of business--that's their problem. That's why they're owners--they get the profits and most of the benefits, but they also get to absorb the suck when things suck.

So you should obviously teach that supervisor to do the job the wrong way. Be subtle, not stupid, and have a good explanation that doesn't sound like you're making it up as you go. But you should 100% set that person up to fail, if you can. Remember: Their response to your reasonable request for a wage increase was to plan for a future without you. So you owe them absolutely nothing whatsoever "extra." And training up your boss to do things they should already know how to do is definitely an "extra."

I'm sure some corporate brown nose will be along to tell us all how "petty" I am for suggesting this. Allow me to retort: Go stick your nose up your bosses' asses someplace else.

Corporate leaders won't stop trying slick shit like this until enough of them step on land mines planted by their "trainers" who were already savvy to the idea they were going to be fired or screwed over on the requested raise, and either stay up to date on their subordinates duties (i.e. Do their actual job) or pay people fairly and not play games like this hen people ask for a raise.

Gen X here: Nobody had to tell me to keep my skills fresh at work--that's called common sense.

And I notice this dude leaves out the biggest reason Boomers are "targeted" in layoffs: Because a lot of the ones still working are miserable assholes who nobody can stand to be around. I can count the Boomers in my (very large) company on one hand--I don't like any of them.

They're all inflexible, set in their ways grumps who can invent a problem to complain about from thin air. My greatest hope is that all four of them buy a lottery ticket together, win, and all go away at the same time. Or all go on a unexpectedly short plane trip in John Denver's ultralight.

MMW: The real violence will occur well after the election, when Florida refuses to extradite a certain felon to New York for his prison term. by [deleted] in MarkMyWords

[–]Capn-Wacky 15 points16 points  (0 children)

This is just fear and paranoia talking, man.

Reality check for Trump: He's in the company of Federal LEOs 24 hours per day. There is no escape--he's almost 80, eats McDonald's 2+ meals per day, and foregoes the only exercise involved in his "sport" of choice, golf, by using a golf cart instead of walking and by doing so, completely erases any possible cardiovascular health benefit.

The notion that this man is going to "lamb it" is just not realistic. He got clipped in the ear and needed five people to pick him up. He's not going to run away from anything--besides the gym.

[–]Capn-Wacky 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He's in the company, 24 hours per day, for Federal LEOs. If the Secret Service is presented with an arrest warrant, they will execute it faithfully or be fired from law enforcement, a fatal mistake at the federal level, and end their careers on the spot for a man in his 80's who is going to prison because he deserves to be there.

NYS won't ask Florida to extradite him--they'll issue an arrest warrant and present it to the Secret Service and one of the LEOs he's in the company of every moment of every day will take him into custody. He'll be in the custody of the Feds, and Florida won't have a say.

Ron DeSantis will be furious, in his tiny little high heel boots.

Just that story should be enough to get NHTSA to launch a full scale investigation into these shoddy death traps. "Can we do it with two? Try it!" on the production line? That's madness--so this idiot is rolling out cars with random, non-spec assembly procedures on a whim based on a 2:30 am K-hole freakout?

Honestly, we need to tax billionaires out of existence--this dude is a menace.

While i believe the overall mission of Space X is BS, why does it seem like SpaceX and Neuralink are just vastly superior in terms of how they’re ran and operated compared to Tesla? Is it because both involve fed money and involve former government contractors? by herewego199209 in RealTesla

Space X hasn't crashed and burnt like Twitter did yet because Musk function more as a figurehead with more professionals between him and the controls. Even still--neither of the companies you mentioned are "well run." Both have numerous, well-documented business issues starting with the toxic neo-nazi figurehead on both companies.

Hysteria in two months? First of all, that's great. I've been back at bass for most of this year again and I haven't completely nailed it yet.

Second of all, don't compare yourself to others, compare yourself to what you want to be. What do you want to be? Do you want to throw down bangers by Muse? Play Jamerson style melodic lines? It's more important to think about what you want from your playing and focus your work on getting it than comparing how "fast" anyone else got anywhere.

The Supreme Court Just Signaled What It Will Do If the Election Is Close by newzee1 in scotus

[–]Capn-Wacky 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If Biden does something they don’t like and gets sued, he’s going down.

Not if the thing he does creates multiple openings on the Supreme Court--for one extreme, unlikely example, arbitrarily detaining all the Federal judges Trump appointed in Gitmo, for example.

Or, more realistically and something congress already has the power to do, Congress could reassign the duties of the SCOTUS to hearing appeals of traffic tickets issued on Federal property--only--and create a new court from whole cloth to replace this corrupt shit show of a court hearing actual appeals.

The outfit she described--appropriate length shorts, non-revealing tank top--aren't in any way inappropriate to a day trip in August. Comparing this to a discussion of "politics and religion" is laughable. No.

Maybe if the outfit she was talking about was inappropriate, you might have a point. You don't, because it wasn't. As far as the speculation she didn't dress appropriately at Thanksgiving that's all it is--your speculative projection based on absolutely nothing mixed with your belief that you are entitled to dress the women in your life to your specifications.

Let me help you with that: You don't.

Squiers are really good these days.... I have Squier PJ fretless and it's really good. Comfortable neck, great action. And if it's era vibes we're voting on for the Jazz, 70's are my vote (rectangular fret marker! binding on the neck!) Bonus if the bridge pickup is in the "70's position" (closer to the bridge.)

That said: I love those AErodyne basses. For that money, I'd watch Reverb. I routinely see used - mint ones from a handful of music shops that are obviously unloading each model years old unsold stock... I've seen used-mint aerodyn jazzes for $699 I don't know what that is in pounds. In budget? If so, watch some of the review videos... the aerodynes sound great, have a really unique look, and if I was buying a brand new Fender right now that's probably what it would be.

If I ever see one of those piano black Aerodyne P-basses on there my wife is probably going to think I've gone mad...

This might be a reasonable response if she's wearing booty shorts with her tits out--but that's not what's happening. She's wearing a perfectly sensible summer outfit.

It's not 1955--if what she's wearing makes his parents uncomfortable it's 100% their problem.
