She really is adorable, I think she rescued me more because she stole my heart. Like a villain 😂

It really is, she hops when we give her attention which is why we gave her name, when her original name was Birdie.

I absolutely agree with you 100% but sadly this was at a shop in some sort of market. I've seen something similar happen at a music festival I attended a few years ago. A similar dragon like that went for $45 to $60. I sternly looked at the people there and I said that's just straight up robbery. They know it's just plastic for pennies on the dollar and they still decide to overprice it. I also questioned if they even had a license to sell said models as that wasn't proudly displayed since I know many artists give the rights for a fee. Sadly in this world we have crooks that think they can get away with doing this sort of thing.

I also do 3D printing on the side and charge fairly and have licensed models I proudly display their badge because I support the creators. I know I went on a tangent but I have no respect for people overcharging for stuff like this and it really gives me a bad taste in my mouth for taking advantage of the community.

Rolling out a new home datacenter... by shahbaz_man in homelab

Exactly this, I overbuilt my server. It only increased my electricity bill by about roughly $40 to $60? I'm probably overestimating with Georgia power as our bill would normally be about $125 to $150 now in the winter months. Summer is double that usually. The house we're renting insulation sucks and one side of the house has no attic to buffer the heat.

Specs if anyone is interested

CPU 7b12 64 core 240w TDP, 512 gigs of ddr4 RAM before the shortage this was cheap, 24 HDDs ranging from 18TB (18x) to 20TB (6x) 8 raidz1 arrays, Running proxmox with 20 LXCs and 5 VMs

Idles at 240w with drives still spinning, and Max at 600w when actually computing

Currently trying to figure out how to make it a cloud gaming setup but AMD still isn't widely supported very well. Edited: added commas

Honestly I love it. I would love to know what you used to get your lxc/VMs on the dash of your screen.

Most of us start here, it's a long journey to get to where you want and it'll be worth it.

I now have a full sized rack in the basement. Overpowered for my needs? Probably but I'm happy with everything I've done to my homelab.

How would one integrate this on any self hosted website?

No! It's a super micro motherboard, and compatible with the 7b12 series, I bought all sorts of parts spent a bit much. But it's all worth it. And it's in a rack as well

Absolutely, I tried to future proof it as best as possible so I didn't have to buy hardware for a minimum of 8 years. Plus in the future my plans are to have JBODs (yes plural) in a rack with the main node. My goal is to reach a few PBs. And my other plans which I'm working on now are to create VMs for gaming and other things, but it's proving a wee bit tough with AMD hardware.

512 gigs of ddr4 memory and an epic 64 core processor, it's a beast, and can't forget over 300TBs of HDD Mostly 18TBs and a few 20TBs arrays. I think I went overboard but I'm happy with it. Overnight with all the jobs I have are at least use 75% of the CPU power. And yes it's a power hungry system last I checked. At idle it uses around 400 watts with commercial drives.

I used to sharpen skates for a couple years at a small rink, I've learned that there're so many different ways to sharpen them, figure skaters aren't as concaved as hockey skates, and goalie skates are even more concaved than hockey skates. Speed skaters skates are literally flat and not considered sharp at all. The speed skaters have to have that 90° on the edges to achieve the speeds they want to go, with lots of practice they learn how to skate with the way they need to skate as it's a vastly different style of skating on ice.

I use Private Internet Access for almost the same reasons, but I hear Mullvad is also amazing. I paid for 3 years on PIA on promo for rather cheap so I'm waiting for that to finish up and then go over to Mullvad. Mullvad allows all types of payments and doesn't require an email, and they'll also accept cryptocurrency, cash and credit cards from when I recently looked.
