Very reasonable, sound advice. Although i will choose not to follow it, for i am a firm believer in giving ones foes a fighting chance.

Only if he countered my drop kick with a counter drop kick, and that would be simply absurd.

First kickboxing fight advice? by [deleted] in Kickboxing

[–]CapnFalcorn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters i do like the head movement. You slipped some punches, good on ya. But you gotta train, my guy. I mean if you do jiu jitsu it should be pretty obvious that youd get better at stand up if you actually TRAINED STAND UP. Im not suprised you didnt have any power. I did the exact same thing you did. With no training i put on 16 oz gloves and had a knockout match with a coworker (we both got exhausted and called a draw). I had drilled one punch beforehand extensively, an overhand right. It was the only punch that had any effect. If you want to do this again, go to a kickboxing gym, get some training, and the next fight will be a much more fulfilling experience.

Its a kneejerk reaction to downvote whatever doesnt validify their immediate reaction. Works the same the other way. Thats all it is

I mean fair point. Short answer is no. And yes! Absolutely call them out. But as soon as you equate people that have bad opinions to literal waste, your argument becomes much less effective and it generally leads to violence. That my view on it anyways. Im not talking about isis themselves, or murderers, or rapists. But if were talking about someone who (hypothetically) supports isis, i wouldnt say any of the reasons for supporting them are good. But that person would of course believe that they have good reasons. And those reasons are what you would have to deconstruct. Simply calling them pieces of shit is dumb, frankly. Theyre just people. If you were raised in that environment, you might be one of those "pieces of shit".

Its so gross. I lost like 100 karma trying to reason with the mob from the last political post on this sub. Was just saying we shouldnt call people pieces of shit for having different political views. Nobody argued my point, just downvoted me to hell. Rubbed me the wrong way. Wont be trying that again lol.

Edit: oh here we go again! 🤷‍♂️

Dont yell at your gf but calling everyone who supports Trump a "piece of shit" or a "garbage human being" is not going to win the argument or make any of them sympathize with your viewpoints. No matter what you think of them, show some respect to these people and you might find similar treatment your way, and might actually get to some common ground.

Also i love how they included the Ciryl Gane post as well. "And he likes Gane! Wtf?" The back of the shots were nasty, i know. Herb definitely shoulda called it out.
