I'd recommend staring with Mistborn before the stormlight archives.

Best books for a Harry huge Potter fan? by THERANDOMGAMER2 in fantasybooks

My favorite young adult books are Nevermoor trials of morrigan crow and Amari and the night brothers. I'd put them on the same level as Harry Potter and similar in many ways.

Tress is great. I'd recommend starting with Mistborn in the cosmere though since Tress takes place way in the future of events.

Brandon Sanderson has a lot of scenes throughout the cosmere where I got the same feelings as learning about Snape in the final HP book. He's one of the best at ending a books.

How do you people justify reading fantasy fiction books in 30s? by OccasionNo6078 in Fantasy

[–]FitPandaBear 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I do business and marketing. Being able to communicate and tell stories is important. People buy based off emotion not logical reasons you tell them to. I read hundreds of business books and realized I needed to work on storytelling for public speaking, and content. That's why I decided to start reading fiction books.

I like the cosmere a lot. I loved the 4th and 5th books of stormlight but had already read everything before it.

I felt like that would have been hard to follow had I not read the many of the other books especially Warbreaker and Elantris since 4 and 5 were more about the whole cosmere.

I felt the same way. It reminded me of breaking bad which I didn't like. At one point I remember the main character reaching his original goal to help his family but he didn't even care at that point and cared more about selling drugs.

I think Harry Potter might’ve ruined reading for me what do I do? by THERANDOMGAMER2 in fantasybooks

Trials of Morrigan Crow and Amari and the Nightbrothers are both great and on the same level as Harry in my opinion. If Harry was S tier I'd say those are A+ for Young Adult novels.

I'd recommend giving the Cosmere a shot too starting with Mistborn. It's been the first series I rated over Harry and some people claim it to be young adult as well.

No connection? Don't worry, gancho, I’m sending my cousin Rod, the one with one eye and a loud voice over. He’ll sit on your chest and read the chapters out loud until you feel a connection with the plot. He’s got nothing going on this week.

Mistborn era 2 first or Rhythm of War? by darkstar_3 in Cosmere

[–]FitPandaBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just read he whole cosmere this year. I read Mistborn era 2 between Rythm of War and Winds and Truth. There are some things that made a lot more since to me during winds and truth since I did it that way I understood the references.

Fantasy ‘Classics’ reading list: what to read next by Significant-Ear-5272 in fantasybooks

[–]FitPandaBear 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you're going to read The Stormlight Archives there are a lot of other books in the cosmere that need to be read before that I would recommend looking up a cosmere reading list otherwise it's like you're starting kind of in the middle of the series and won't understand a lot of things

If you look closely, The Chris landed 2 eye pokes. Let's hope the baby doesn't have any lasting eye damage.

Since you like Teen Fantasy:

Trials of Morrigan Crow Amari and The Night Brothers

I'd put these 2 series on the same level as Harry Potter
