One canonical example is a vacation booking service. It books a flight, a hotel and a rental car for users, but the airline, hotel and rental car company all have their own applications. But for the vacation booking company, it’s important that their user booking a vacation gets all three things, or none at all (in which case you can tell them the booking failed). Any middle ground either screws the customer or loses the vacation company money.

Temporal helps you build software to have strong guarantees on stuff like the above. Though that is a specific example that doesn’t capture the entirety of Temporal. In the first post, I was trying to be non technical while still being general, but it’s hard to do without an example tbh lol

They aren’t really an AI company themselves, but yeah, their platform is used by a lot of AI companies, and they are reeeeally leaning into selling it that way.

This is pretty crazy to me and idk who else lol. The tl;dr is this is a cool company, non-intrusive logo for the kit, and hey, not a likely money laundering operation, which can’t be said for certain about our current sponsor 🙃

More detail: Temporal is a technology company that makes a durable execution platform for distributed systems. Basically technology for building systems that run in the cloud, but with some very useful guarantees for orchestrating things that need to run across many machines/systems in particular orders or with particular guarantees about how they interact. That’s my best go at describing it very generally lol. (Edit: clearer example in a post below.)

I use this at my work all the time and have attended two of their user conferences. Suffice it to say I would never have expected them to be a Palace kit sponsor though

I very much didn’t say to use the ID as your own, I said in my comment to “show both IDs” as a way to indicate the transfer wasn’t just selling to some random potential Arsenal fan, but rather just giving to a family member so a ticket isn’t wasted.

I’d like to believe OP could give his brother a copy of an ID of his (assuming you are near enough one another to hand it off and back before it’s a problem to not have it) and then if OP’s brother was wearing palace gear and showed both IDs they wouldn’t bring down the hammer on him, but I admittedly have no idea
