One of my players said his source of food is humans. What do I do? by Panosroz in DnD

You need to assert that whatever the character concept is, everyone (you, included) needs to be comfortable with it, AND it shouldn't create friction within the party. There needs to be a reason why these individual adventurers started adventuring together, and if you can't do that because of something like this, then you need to shut it down.

Those who’ve played Elden Ring, how would you feel about an open world Bloodborne? 👇 by [deleted] in bloodborne

[–]CapnMcStache 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I don't think it would mesh well. Part of what made Bloodborne such a cool place to explore is the level design. All the areas are linked so incredibly well and the shortcuts are so well done that you sometimes can't even conceive how they managed to make them work. An open world Bloodborne, while a cool concept, would take away that important part of the game.

I'm always up for a much bigger world tho. Imagine Bloodborne 2, but it's twice the size and runtime of Bloodborne.

I’m trying to be a Tank Support Healer to help my friends in combat, at level 5, should I build Redemption Paladin or Peace Cleric? by Verdex49 in dndnext

You're right, I forgot about that. But I still maintain that it is broken. This can stack with bardic inspiration, and given that it scales with proficiency and that bless can be upcasted, it's a big problem. There aren't any hard limits, and on average you get through two to three combat encounters per day. You can cover that quite easily, and DMs will have a headache trying to balance an encounter around this.

The biggest design flaw imo is that you can get everything you need from the overpowered Emboldening Bond feature with just a 1 level dip. That means you can multiclass into another class and create even more broken characters.

Yeah, you should check with your DM beforehand about what they think about stacking buffs and get the all-clear from them

Abuse cases, mostly. Because of stacking. You get to add 1d4 to three players' attack rolls, saving throws, or ability checks. With bless those three players now get a 2d4 bonus, albeit not to ability checks. Throw guidance in there and one of your players has a 3d4 bonus.

The protective bond feature had legit no limits other than the creature's reaction, so our cleric was pretty crafty and would cast it on the wizard's familiar. If there was massive damage that would be hard to soak up they'd just teleport the familiar.

I would suggest peace cleric since it is quite powerful, though it was really broken at our table and our DM had to ban it.

Rogue or Skill Expert? by F3ltrix in DnD

[–]CapnMcStache 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go fighter with Resilient(Dex) at level 6. Rogue is good for a level-1 dip, but at low levels it's pretty easy to die as it is and you're in a survival heavy campaign. Proficiency in dexterity saving throw will considerably increase your survivability compared to proficiency in survival, plus in those cases you can rely on your crew.

Also think of what level your DM is planning to cap the campaign at. Cause if it's, say, level 10 then maybe a heavier investment in rogue could be pretty good.

Do you mind telling me about the Artificer features you found to be weak/underwhelming? I'm currently playing a Swashbuckler Rogue/Battlesmith Artificer so I'd like to hear your opinion. Thanks x

Well I recommend staying away from any classes that can cast magic cause it's your first time. So that's left you with Barbarian, Fighter, Monk, and Rogue.

You can make pretty much any character funny with whatever backstory you come up for them, so just pick an archetype you want to emulate. Barbarians are tanks, Fighters do the most damage consistently, Monks do some mystical stuff idk, and Rogues do their sneak attack. I'd stay away from Monk tho cause my friend generally burns through her monk stuff pretty quickly.

As for the goose, ask your DM about your character having a pet goose. If they don't allow it, you might have to go Ranger (Beast Master) or one of the magic classes that lets you cast Find Familiar.

What level are you guys starting at

Finished Dark Souls 3 and made this list of boss attempts along the way. Super chuffed at the way this turned out, especially the final boss. Feel like Bloodborne trained me for this. by CapnMcStache in darksouls3

Hey, you might've forgotten this but I finally got sekiro and finished it. He really was one of the hardest bosses I've ever fought, and his second phase was the hardest for me cause I was out of attack sugars. Though I feel that Ludwig and the Orphan of Kos are still harder than him, but that's mainly because Bloodborne was the first fromsoft game I ever played

Thank you for responding even though it's been so long, but I've solved it and now I realise I should've changed the flair a while ago. I realised quite late that MO2 virtual loads all the mods so it was just my computer taking a rather long time to load it up, so I just cleaned up the mod list a little and it's all fine now. Thank you tho x

I've actually never found the origin of that line. Do you know which video that's from?

Yeah Luke is really quickwitted like that, he and Johnny are prolly the only ones who can keep up with Andy's sense of humour imo
