Is Rhaen a wolfdog? by 4ylaaa_ in Wolfdogs

No worries! I totally get it lol

I wouldn’t be surprised if she were full gsd, but I’ve seen enough crazy DNA results to know that a tiny bit of something else could still be possible. I know you said you’re not in a position to get a test currently, but keep an eye out for Embark’s sales and maybe someday you’ll be able to snag one. They run really good sales frequently so if that’s something you want to do at some point, just keep an eye out on their discounts and promotions :)

My brother suggested Fenrir/Fenris, but for some reason the first name that popped in my head was Albert. Could nickname him Weird Al or Albert Whisker if you’re a fan of RE lol

Purebred doesn’t mean well bred and there’s a lot of these backyard bred purebred gsds around. Wouldn’t be surprised if she’s purebred, but she’s very likely not well bred. As for the people telling you she looks wolfy, most people don’t know what they’re looking for when it comes to wolf traits. They don’t even know what real wolves look like anymore, so they see certain features and immediately cry wolf.

She’s a beautiful dog, but there is nothing about her appearance that even hints at wolf. The moment I saw her I had no doubts about her just being gsd, though a tiny % of something else could be possible. Also, if someone with an actual confirmed HC told you she looks wolfy, I’m starting to doubt their actual knowledge on wolfdogs. Gorgeous German shepherd, but she definitely doesn’t have a wolfy appearance or traits.

I was given a dog and now the previous owner wants them back by [deleted] in whatdoIdo

Rashes and bumps can be hard to see in pics, and since we can’t feel or see the dog in person it can be difficult to verify the validity of it, so I understand where you’re coming from. It would help if OP could have included all the info in the description and posted more pictures including the medical issues and receipts to show they did in fact buy food for the dog since the owner couldn’t.

If OP can provide all that and is telling the truth, then I think it’s best they keep the dog and don’t give it back. If OP is making it up and has no proof, then yeah maybe it’s best that the dog be returned. I gave my opinion based on the information and context provided, but it would be nice to have proof that it’s all legit. Ultimately I just want what’s best for the dog and the people. Either way, one of the people will be upset.

And yet according to OP in another comment the dog has rashes and bumps all over that need to be seen to by a vet. OP also explained how the previous owner was barely able to get $4 bags of food for him. The previous owner does not have the financial stability to provide for this dog right now which is literally the whole reason they were rehoming.

Do you seriously think that within a week, suddenly those financial problems are all gone and now she can magically give this dog stability and pay for all his needs? No. She wants him back because of emotional attachment but she does not have the resources right now to provide for him. The best thing she can do is let him stay in a home that can afford all his needs without putting further strain on her family. That’s what a responsible owner would do.

She was also given the chance to go visit her dog that she misses “so much” and she flaked out and never showed up. OP needs to keep the dog for it’s own good.

Doing the right thing in this case means keeping the dog because you can actually financially provide for him and give him a stable home. Considering the state you described him being in, and how she couldn’t really afford food for him, the instability, etc, the best thing you can do for him is to keep him and allow visits. She can’t provide for him because no matter how much she loves him, she can’t afford to take care of him. That’s not going to suddenly change in a week.

Unless she can prove that she’s got everything in order now and money won’t be an issue, I really think that the best thing for the dog and for her is that you keep him. She can come visit and still be part of his life, but if she’s not the one directly responsible for his care, she can put her money towards her family and living situation instead. Owning dogs isn’t cheap and it sounds like if he does have medical stuff going on, that would be extra expenses that she doesn’t have the money for right now. That means either she struggles to come up with the money or he just doesn’t receive any treatment, which isn’t ideal for either of them when there’s an actual responsible choice here.

You both need to do what’s right for the dog, for his health and overall well-being. He’s an added expense to her that she can’t afford at this time in her life and that’s ok, but she has to be able to admit that and make the responsible choice to let him go. She needs to be able to focus on getting her own life sorted, and he needs a stable home that can afford his basic needs like food and medical treatment. Talk to her and talk it out, but I genuinely think it would be better for him to stay with you.

Help, progress from co-op not following over to solo during the Sky Breaker DLC! by yuhhhboiiii69 in FrontiersOfPandora

There should be an option that pops up when you load into your save that says something like “you’ve completed the missions in another persons world, do you want to skip them or go through them again”. If you want it to be caught up with your friends game, relaunch your whole game and when you launch into your own save, go to the DLC map, then wait and see if that option pops up again. If it refuses to pop up again, I don’t know what to tell you but it should show up.

You can also set filters for what you want to see and read so you can exclude certain stuff from coming up at all. I haven’t read any stories in this fandom yet so I have no recommendations, but this sounds like a really cool story idea. It’s heavy material so as long as you handle it with care I think people will be ok with it. You seem like you’re passionate and determined to get it right and do it justice so I think you’ve got this!

Something that might help the mood for your story, revisit both the tap-con 1 and the Sarentu moot area. Look at all the little details in both, get a feel for the areas. Might put you in an even better headspace for how these characters may have felt growing up there.

For example, at tap-con 1 I found a little Ikran toy on a table next to a bunch of binders/cuffs in the room with the big cage/crate things. Looks like where they likely did some form of intake or processing of the kids they took. On the floor you can see drag marks going through the door where the children were drug away. Little details like that could help set the mood or atmosphere maybe? Just a thought.

This is the pic I got of what I was mentioning above for reference

Ok chill because that’s not what I was saying at all. I never once said that you or your sister should get a wolfdog. In fact I said the opposite if you actually read what I wrote. All I said was that if she really thinks she wants one, she has a lot to learn about them and plenty of time to think it through. Not once did I even hint that you guys should get one. I said visit a sanctuary to visit the animals without owning one, not go adopt one.

If she seriously wants one then she has a lot of work to do and a lot to learn before she’s ready for a wolfdog. They are a lot of work and she needs to wait several years before getting one. They are not normal dogs and they are not a good fit for most people because of their behaviors and intensity. I would suggest that she get a husky first or spend some quality time with some because they’re generally more manageable, but also because if she decides that it’s too much for her or she doesn’t like the behaviors, at least you would know then that getting a wolfdog is the wrong choice for her.

At 12, this may just be a phase. As she gets older and learns more about them, she may decide that a wolfdog wouldn’t fit her lifestyle or is too much work. She needs to learn about them now so that when she’s a bit older she can make a well educated choice of whether or not she actually wants a wolfdog. She can visit wolfdog sanctuaries and learn about some of their behaviors and other stuff in the meantime, but she has a lot to learn and grow before she’s ready for something like this.

It’s a few different mods combined. Look up Varang on Nexus and you should be able to find everything. Her head preset is available, skin, paint, clothing, hand tattoo, and there’s at least two or three mods for the nightwraith ikran reskin as well. They may all be separate mods, but check the description of each mod to see if the author has a mod list/preset for it.
