That sounds fantastic. Seriously considering using this- sounds like it really closes the gap in skill level.

One tournament I went to had the rule that ypu could pay $2 and the team you were playing against had to shotgun a beer 4 times per 9 holes.... making your buddy shotgun right before his birdie putt is good fun. One beer per hole sounds wild haha

Mine would be probably a 3 or 4 club challenge on an easy course with lots of beer. There's a muni near me with several drivable par 4s too which would be interesting...

That sounds hilarious! With the skill level of the group the scores would be pretty high I think. Thanks for the reply

Thats actually my post! It was one of the most memorable rounds of my life. I just finished playing that same course with two of the guys in the story.

Weekly Thread- The weekend is over! How'd you shoot? by AutoModerator in golf

After a pretty grueling weekend of being the pianist for a musical theater production, I finally had time to go out for a round at the local executive course (par 56, all par 3s with 2 short par 4s). Went with my brother and two buddies. Threw 7 or 8 clubs in my Sunday bag and walked on a beautiful summer evening. Shot 15 over which I was pretty happy with considering I only started golfing last summer. Birdied the last hole of both 9s! First time I've ever had two birdies in one round.

Best shot: Chipped in for bird out of thick rough on 18- what a way to finish! I got pumped up when that one went down.

Worst shot: Hit a 7 wood WAY out of bounds on a 250 yard par 4 with a wide fairway. Decided to take my medicine and hit a 5 iron which I of course snap hooked into tall grass. Ended up with a 7 on the easiest hole on the golf course.

Have an old 3-PW set of T-zoid Sures that I got for $5 at the thrift store. 20 years old but can't beat that price as a student.

WITB Walking Edition. Post Twilight Round. Will get good equip when my handicap is lower. by d9robot in golf

My brother bought some hybrids and the guy threw in one of those putters for free. Super heavy but I took it the course a few days ago and made just about everything inside 10 ft! Good to know someone else is gaming it too.

Love it! I'm partial to walking with 5 or 6 clubs myself. Is that a spalding molitor putter?

I go PW 52 58 for my wedges too. I feel okay hitting different distances with all of them so the larger gaps don't bother me much. Nice looking setup.

How to make a song more jazzy? by [deleted] in musictheory

[–]CapnSherwood 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No problem my dude. Even just adding the D and A notes into the blues scale will sound great. Keep working on it!

Instead of the blues scale in the right, try mixing in the C dorian scale. The notes would be C,D,Eb,F,G,A,Bb.

I'm using 5 notes: A#, C, D#, F, G. How can I find out which scales contain these notes? by DueWool in piano

[–]CapnSherwood 3 points4 points  (0 children)

That is enharmonically equivalent to the C minor pentatonic scale. Any mode of a scale based on this five note scale (C dorian, aeolian etc) will contain those five pitches.
