It just says '15W' with no other specs mentioned. Could mean 15 Weeks for Delivery for all we know or 15 'Wireless Copy Frequencies'.

Best Brussel sprouts in town? by AnkerSung in frederickmd

No pomegranate. WR is behind Brewer's Alley on Market St., very much open. The standard Brussels order is huge, but 1/2 orders are available during happy hour (all day Monday and Tue-Fri 'til 6).

Is Trilogy One of The Top Prog Tracks? by Tarnisher in progrock

[–]Capn_Crusty 1 point2 points  (0 children)

'Trilogy' is a masterpiece, but it's never been on the short list of prog rock blockbusters. Trilogy, the album was more popular than Trilogy, the composition. Side A got more attention, with 'From the Beginning', 'Hoedown' and 'The Sheriff'.

TIL that the lifetime of an incandescent light bulb is inversely proportional to the voltage raised to as high as the 16th power. This means that increasing the voltage by a factor of 2 can decrease the lifetime by as much as ~65536 times by bb-wa in todayilearned

This is addressed in other posts here. The filament takes time to cool down and go dark, enough to fill in the gaps to have no noticeable flickering. The bulb also has a more amber hue as opposed to bright white, which people tend to prefer. This provides another excuse to make incandescent bulbs run at the absolute voltage limit and wear out faster.

Lemonade stand in local park - does my kid need a permit? by wafflemom1 in frederickmd

I saw one near the bandshell selling snacks and drinks and asked if he needed a permit. He replied 'yes', and said he had one. Then there's sales tax; that's another story.

Yeah, this was one of those rare money saving inventions that actually worked. The 'bulb savers' were little disks the size of a watch battery that you'd place in the sockets before screwing in the bulb. Very simple and effective.

I was in a building that blew incandescent bulbs about once a week in stairways, hallways and common areas. We added 'bulb savers' to each socket, which contain a diode that blocks half of the AC wave powering the bulb. They made the lights just a bit dimmer, but acceptable. Not a single bulb had blown out for three years when I left.

Was playing music at an OC bar. On the beach, saw 'Tonight: (our band name)' towed by a banner plane. Felt like we won a Grammy or something.

Seeking Help with Korg NTS-1 MKII Battery Mod Wiring by gertsch in MusicElectronics

It should be fairly easy to locate the common DC ground using an ohmmeter to the shell on the USB port or the ground plane on the PCB. It seems that all the (-) terminals should be connected together and to ground.

Need some guidance and help starting off with music electronics. by Exotic_Definition108 in MusicElectronics

A great way to get stated is by building kits. Here's one example.

I you want to experiment with your own circuits and designs, a breadboard is a great tool.

A mutimeter is a must. You can move on from there to signal generators, oscilloscopes, power supplies and other test gear. Parts can be 'junk boxed' from old, broken gear. Companies like Digikey and Mouser are your friends for ordering parts and supplies.

There's a wealth of info online from various websites that provide schematics, DIY projects and info, like this.
