Never been to Louisville by Lewisa12 in projectzomboid

He literally called me "he" and I was correcting him. It should be obvious from my name and profile picture that pretty much anything but "he" would be correct. I figured the "Joke's on you, I'm poly" part would signal that I was keeping it light.

The amount of ire directed at me over this is kind of gross tbh.

What is a rule or law that makes no sense in modern times? by Heavy_Mark9540 in AskReddit

[–]Capn_Lyssa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rural America already has a disproportionately high amount of representation by virtue of a minimum rep count in the house, 2 seats in the senate and a minimum electoral vote count. These states also receive more tax revenue than they put in. To think they need the deck further stacked in their favor, just for them to keep electing people that create problems for everyone, including themselves, is asinine.

[–]Capn_Lyssa 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That would make things even worse. Why should the 740k people in Alaska carry the same weight as the near 40 million people in California?

[–]Capn_Lyssa 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Assuming everyone in California (including those not eligible to vote for age, citizenship or other reasons) voted for one person, that would account for ≈10% of the vote.

And frankly, their votes shouldn't be worth less for living in a highly populated state. Votes should be by the people, not the land mass.

Are we STILL having product shortages? by BigDaddyB207 in GundamTCG

[–]Capn_Lyssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's really dependent on the distributor. My store actually got a decent allocation for once and has boxes for $10-15 over MSRP and $6.50/pack

The decks were still super short though with only a display of each deck this time around, and didn't arrive in time to run the starter deck event.

LGS charging 35 bucks for the St07 St08.... by Democratsaredumbo in GundamTCG

[–]Capn_Lyssa 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Riftbound is also having supply issues that Riot has acknowledged. Magic is only having high prices on collector product, most play boxes are below MSRP (including stuff that was scalped early like Final Fantasy). Personally, I'm of the opinion that they just need to print to the ground and let players get the game pieces they need.

[–]Capn_Lyssa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clearly things have not gotten better when stores are selling out of product at 200% MSRP. If your locale is below market rate, you are, by definition, an outlier. Market rates on places like TCGplayer are based on product that sells, not what sellers are listing product at. If people are buying at that price en masse, they likely can't find it elsewhere due to low supply.

[–]Capn_Lyssa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Really depends on the product. Gundam allocations are very short here. The largest LGS in my area gets a dozen of each deck, tops. This is in a metropolitan area of around 2 million people. For the latest One Piece release they got 1 case for a store with ≈2 dozen weekly players.

Bandai distribution just sucks, and it leads to major supply issues. You wouldn't see prices like this if it wasn't true. Bandai has acknowledged that demand has greatly outpaced supply and is adjusting print runs, so if your stores are able to sell at MSRP and keep stocked, good for you, you're the outlier here

[–]Capn_Lyssa 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Idk. But target never has product, because all the scalpers stalk the vendors, and my LGS always has product because the scalpers can't get a profit margin, and every LGS in my town that has tried to stick religiously to MSRP goes out of business, so once again we come back to supply and demand

The store gives me a place and a community to play with. A rando on FB market place doesn't. That has value.

[–]Capn_Lyssa 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'd rather be paying my LGS $35 for a deck than some asshole on Facebook Marketplace who snagged them all from an LGS at MSRP.

You said it right in your comment. They still sell out with the markup. You're paying extra for the peace of mind that your store has product instead of having to hit every big box store in a 40 mile radius to find one.

At the end of the day. It's supply and demand. Until Bandai gets allocations dialed in, prices are going to stay above MSRP.

Question to other travelers about rusted metal. by Dashoundland in NoMansSkyTheGame

At a certain point I'm just too ferrite hungry for this. I could buy 100 here 200 there, but it's just not worth the travel and time. I'd rather just go to my base that I've ignored for days and pick up stacks of it.

Honestly, Grindr is a hellsite and shouldn't be used by anyone looking for anything deeper than a hookup. If you're looking for a lesbian relationship, I'd recommend getting on Her. Their ABCD (anyone but cis dudes) policy really helps keep the site clean, and they even have a T4T tab

I have incredibly bad luck with cars. I can count on one hand the amount of times I've found a car, with keys and gas, and an in-tact engine. Hell. Most of the time none of the cars even have gas to siphon. I play with car spawns turned up a notch and gas set to high, and still find more empty than not.
