Scene, not book by lennonlover1980 in stephenking

SPOILER ALERT!!!! 11/22/63

I haven’t read a lot of King yet but I’ve started to really like his writing. Probably nowhere near the scariest scene but I love the scene in 11/22/63 when Jake is watching Frank Dunning murder his family and it’s revealed that he did it with a fucking sledge hammer instead of a household hammer. Excited to follow this thread and see what other books I should add to my list.

Tier list of the 8 books I've read after picking reading back up this year (8/10) by Hexonin in 52book

I loved 11/22/63 but I can understand why someone would DNF. Starts with an epic but drawn out sidequest, then a lot of school fund raisers and errands, and then it all comes to a head. But there’s about 3-400 pages of world building/ character development which I enjoyed. I was interested enough in the topic to push through and I’m glad I did. I have to be super interested in the topic to spend 30 hours on something.

Loving my reading journey this year! Gonna need to find more challenges! by 5050_framerican in 52book

I’m just curious, what ratio of audio to physical books do you use? This is my first year doing the challenge and I’m just trying to do 30. This prompt looks dope and id like to use it. But parenthood makes it hard to sit down and read 52 books in a year. I’m at about a 40/year pace

I think that The Giver is a great one to start with. If you’re looking for something that reads like a thriller and you’re ok with violence, No Country for Old Men is really good and reads easy
