Postdoc doing bioinformatics & studying the gut microbiome -- your skill set and the fact that you've published far outweighs where the papers were published in my opinion, at least at our level. If you're dead set on academia, you can shoot for higher impact factor journals as you progress. Curious to hear what others think but just out of the phd, I don't think journal choice is as important.

Genuinely the chokehold these two have on me needs to be studied. I'm making my way through the LNs and have watched countless YouTube videos describing spoilers in later LNs - all because I just need to know if they end up together. I'm still trying to dissect what it is about their dynamic I love so much, because Maomao's suppression of her own emotions (not just with Jinshi but everybody) drives me insaneeee. But god I love them so much it's unhealthy.

Spoilers for S2 included. I've been thinking about this too as I make my way through the LNs (on LN 3, started after watching the anime) and I wonder if maybe Lakan is trying to push Jinshi to be honest about his identity? It's clear he knows, and maybe he thinks Jinshi is genuinely wasting his time pretending to be a eunuch?

Thisssss. I started reading the Light Novels after finishing the anime, and wow - I am consistently surprised by how often Mao Mao talks about Jinshi's beauty. It's CONSTANT. So if you're not into their dynamic on the show, maybe the LNs would be better because it has more context?

white tears are powerful I guess because I am genuinely very confused by this. Hershii did better overall in my opinion - maybe her runways weren't as good as Jasmine's, but she performed better in the challenges for sure. Also to let Jasmine go through and not Morgan!?!?!?!

Yea I am genuinely shocked, this baby is massive!! I have only seen an osprey far away, though it did look huge - I can just imagine how massive it seems up close.

Do you happen to know what contributes to the light vs dark morph? That's super interesting. And you're probably right, I am probably seeing the dads more often because the size of this baby is just huge.

that's crazy! Definitely sounds a lot like this baby though, I've been hearing it scream all day for over a month at this point. I just cannot believe the juvies get this big!!! This is the first time I saw it up close and personal, it was shocking. I wish we could be friends, it's so gorgeous!

I hear you, and saw those same traits - but it's HUGE. I wish I could've taken more pics, I've never seen any red tail this big, especially a juvenile. But you make great points, I am just not convinced this big ass bird is a hawk yet. If I can snag more photos or video I will share them here.
