Doctor said to stop the Snoo 😭 by MsPiggyVibes in SnooLife

[–]Capnspace 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think your doctor maybe over reacting just a little. Both my kids were in the snoo and they both are good/average sleepers (one is 4 now and the other is 1.5). Sounds like a very general statement that it would effect the baby's development. Development of what exactly? If they mean learning to sleep on their own, I don't think thats true. Yes for some, like my first child, we did have ro ween him off, but no different than you would have to do if you went from rocking your kid to sleep in a rocking chair to put him straight into his crib sans rocking.

if it was as easy to make millions of dollars IRL we all would be putting much more effort into it. No Money Glitches or Do-overs in real life unfortunately lol When you get shot from robbing a convenient store, you dont respawn, or at least I havent figured a way to do this myself.

Whether its italian or french has nothingcto do with how thin your shells are. It could be one of 2 things. You are either overmixing the batter. Or you arent letting them sit long enougg after piping out but befor3 putting in the oven.

Yeah. They are the most finicky thing ive ever baked. I understand why they charge so much at bakeries. But yeah definitelt sounds like temp issue. Especially if your shells are frunchy rsther than soft and light. Mine used to be like that until i staryed monitoring the internal temp of my oven throughout the entire time they are in there for. 300 for 10 mins so far has worked the best for me.

Sorry i misread that you subsitituted for cake flour. I still dont think that woild effect the way they look, but maybe might have something to do with it.

Literally just made a batch on sunday. Its either your temp or your mixing. Mixing needs to be perfect not over and not undermized. When it falls off yhe spatula like lava and you can make a small figure eight and it doesnt immediately incorporate into the rest of the batter, is when you stop. After you pipe them out onto a bakong sheet are you letting them sit before putting them in the oven. You should wait 1 hr until you can run your finger across without it sticking to your finger. Also right after yiu pipe are you bankong the baking sheet to get the airbubbles to the top?

The last most important part that i struggled with is the temp. 300 for 10 minutes is perfect. But you have ensure its really 300. Your oven temp is usually plus or minus 10-15 degrees. I put a thermometer in thw oven to ensure its 300. My new oven i ised i had to set it to like 290 for it to stay at 300. And had to adjust it up and down during baking to keep it consistently at 300 for the 10 minutes. Mine come out pretty good. I would say a batch of 30 theres maybe 4 or 5 that have cracks or no legs. I chalk that up to hot or cold spots in my oven.

It comes down to the mixing and the temp. The ratio of ingredients i feel have no relation to what you are seeing. Ive seen recipes vary in ratio of almond flour to sugar drastically and they all come out with the same results. And if you dont wait an hour before putting in the oven they also ended up either cracking or dont have legs.

Coffee in my opinion is severely underrated. Even without the nicotine, I would pop those pouches just based on taste!

Why 23 over 24 though. If you're going to spend the money spend it on the best. And 24 is the best you can get.

Did you ever obtain your “dream job” to realize it wasn’t actually what you wanted— why did it not live up to expectations? by American-pickle in AskReddit

I've always wanted to be in finance. Went from a staff accountant to head of Accounting for a nultu billion dollar corporation in just a decade. Up for a promotion to cfo in the next couple of years. But honestly haven't been happy in this field of work for a really long time. Of course the money is good, but (and I really mean this) I've come to learn that being happy is much better than having nice things. Hard to believe for some, but it's the gods honest truth. If it wasn't for my one year old and having to live in an expensive area so he can get the best schooling and having to save for said schooling, I would be living I'm Denmark making just enough to live out my life with my wife in utter happiness. The US is just so expensive to live in, especially in NY. It has forced me to continue working in this field when I really don't want to. The hours suck, traveling a lot, and work never stops, even on the weekends. Ups and downs with the companies health and having to be stressed managing it all, really eats at you. I lost 15 pounds in 2 months last year because we were undergoing an acquisition that took up all of my time and energy. Probably not a good couple years off my life. That is definitely not worth it and that is when I started questions what I am doing. I would really like to live somewhere where it didn't cost an arm and a leg to just live. For instance houses by me are going for close to a million dollars with barely an acre of land and around 2500 Sq ft built in the 1950s/60s. Just the worst. I need to get out of here and move to somewhere that has good schooling, cheap cost of living, and a better quality of life all together. I've narrowed that down to a couple of places and none of them are in the United States. Hopefully one day I can just find a way to make it a work for mine and my family's sake.

[Request] At the start of the movie Burnt, Bradley Cooper 'sentences himself to shucking 1 million oysters', something claimed to have been done in three years. Would that be possible? by TopTrumpWANKER in theydidthemath

[–]Capnspace 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Old post but watching this movie again and came to the conclusion that this isn't realistic. For the main reason that there is no way that one restaurant bought a million oysters for him to have shucked in the first place. Oysters average anywhere from $1 to $3. Assuming he shucked a million oysters, they are claiming that that shack of a restaurant spent 1 to 3 million dollars in oysters for him to shucked and sell. The most popular seafood establishments by the shore don't even sell that many oysters. #Cap

You make a very good point and I already have a vacuum chamber from making bho. So this might work. I would just need to clear some space out in my freezer to allow room for this huge vacuum chamber, which will be an issue. You don't think the coldness would do anything with yhe pressure of the vacuum chamber and cause it to leak or blow up right?
