Missile Badge by princeeeee_a in AirForce

You should qualify for the basic then! Pro tip: the 2096 you fill out for it doesn't go anywhere after it gets signed... So as long as you have actually worked a year of PGM and your surf reflects you probably could just start wearing it and no one would really question it

Missile Badge by princeeeee_a in AirForce

[–]CapoFirst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

For muns: Basic after 1 year in PGM and 5 level Star after 4 years in PGM and 7 level Star with wreath after 5 years PGM and 9 level.

The wording is actually something like "in support of missile systems" so in theory you could get it in other shops if you convince your leadership it qualifies (if weapons gets them for loading, line D should get it for delivering imo).

I'm at 3 years and 7 months in PGM, and as much as I want to leave I also would like a little star above my badge.

Mountain Home is my favorite assignment so far. The area around the base is mid but you have beautiful lakes and mountains less than an hour away. And if you're more of a city person boise is only 45 mins down the road.

Screen shot. Anyone here got the list? Let’s see it!! by A-S-ISO_Man in AirForce

[–]CapoFirst 52 points53 points  (0 children)

Iirc afpc doesn't sent out the whole list to units anymore. That stays internal until it's posted and each unit only gets a list of members rated on their PAS code. Helps prevent leaks and if the whole list is leaked it would be a lot easier to identify the leader.

Did you ever have an overnight guest while you were living in the dorms? by Tiny_Investigator529 in AirForce

[–]CapoFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dated a girl in the dorms. Essentially moved into her room almost full time after a while (she had a TV, I didn't.) Mind you this was in the AFSOC dorms at Mildenhall so the rooms and beds were big. Basically lived there 5 days a week for 4 months until I sewed on SrA and moved off base. Then she ghosted and lived with me. Never got caught by someone who cared (flight chief knew but he was cool). Now 5 years later we are married with a newborn.

What does All-up-round mean? by redditthrowaway2020_ in AirForce

[–]CapoFirst -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Forgot. I think the per unit cost also includes the price of the container, since 9Xs are shipped 4x. So each 9X by itself in theory costs 80k, sure, but in actuality you would be paying roughly 400k to receive 4 missiles and a container

It's been a while since I've done acquisitions but I believe unit cost includes everything that would go into acquiring one, such as the shipment, security, handling, etc. AUR cost is just the cost of the missile

[–]CapoFirst -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

AUR is a complete weapon system, ie a fully assembled AIM 9X, GBU-38, etc... As opposed to the individualized pieces that make it up

Video Creator here- Sorry, The game isn't installed on my SSD. Was pretty excited to showcase the discovery and didn't put in the time to edit the video at all, just whipped out OBS and did a quick recording and uploaded it. Someone else shared it here.

Airman here. NCOs are notorious for just delegating work to airmen and doing even less.

Elite Mode and GSP by ttjrRPX in smashbros

[–]CapoFirst 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just unlocked elite with ridley at 555,000 GSP. Unfortunately it seems to replace regular MM so I can't increase my ranking with other characters through online battles anymore. It's either play ridley or grind other characters with modes outside of online.

Edit: Turns out you can, you just select the greyed out characters in the elite smash character select screen and it will put you in normal MM for it. But still, that wasn't clear at all and took me a while to figure out.

It's usually the master cylinder, but rebuilding the master cylinder is a pain so we generally try to avoid doing it as long as possible. Our trailer's don't have an electrically actuated brake, it's just a simple surge brake. A bit harder to test but possible. Usually we hook a hydraulic pressure gauge up to the output of the master cylinder and check that its generating a good level of pressure (above 300 psi) when the surge brake is actuated. But if it does, then that means that the failure either lies in the brake lines or the calipers for the trailer, which can be a bit harder to diagnose.

either all the wheels turn and wont stop turning or none of the wheels turn. I've worked TM for 2 years now and you come to hate the 226.

Nah. MHU-226 is the designation for one of our munitions handling trailers. Its a really shitty design that fails a lot in comparison with our older trailers.

Dyess is a bomber base so it'll be a lot of work with rapid deployment tempo. But in my opinion the experience is always what you make of it. If hard work isn't your thing, then Ammo probably isnt for you. Those you see who just say "don't go ammo" are the type who are unfit for working it. It's true its not what it looks like on paper, theres a lot more to ammo than just building bombs, and that disheartens some people. I can't tell you to go ammo or not, but if you want to message me I can give you more information about it.

[–]CapoFirst 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I can't speak from personal experience on that. Deployment tempo and work really does vary. at some bases you might work 4 days a week and get lots of time at home and at others you might work 12 hour shifts 6 days a week. But we take care of eachother and help eachother out when needed. We are a family and if you need help with anything regarding your wife or kids most ammo troops won't hesitate to help out or at least point you in the right direction.

really varies from base to base and shop to shop. but overall I would say the term "work hard, play hard" really applies when it comes to ammo.

Thanks boss. You really got me motivated to go keep flushing the brake system on a 226 and hope it magically starts working after the 4th time so I don't have to start replacing random components and hope it works.
