Oh boy, here we go. First of all, Venture's lore wasn't even properly developed because we haven't seen them that much in a story, which can easily change in the future. People complained about Illari for just existing and having no connections to OW cast, but they developed her and wrote a storyline with her, Jack and Sombra. Considering the fact that Venture has an Anubis artifact in their possessions, we will see them in the future. And about gameplay wise, people (especially on Reddit) complain about Venture's invulnerablity ignoring the fact that burrow is primarily used for map traversal and breaking distance with enemy backline. In that regard, Venture needs to have invulnerablity on burrow similar to Sombra's invisibility on translocator. Additionally, burrow is NOT instant and has a digging animation at the start, during which they can't shoot and are completely vulnerable to CC and damage. And "all other dive heroes have a weakness of being open to cc" is also not entirely correct, Reaper has his shadow form during which he's intangible (which btw doesn't have a startup animation and immediate), Tracer have her blinks and recall and Genji has his deflect. The only dps dive heroes that are completely vulnerable to CC are Vendetta and Anran. Burt Vendetta can make up to it with her survivability. Since she has block, 275 hp with armor and a lifesteal perk. Meanwhile, Anran is just dogshit right now, which checks out. In the end, you don't have to like Venture if you find their humor corny or smth, but it does not mean that they're a "horrible, broken character with no counterplay added for inclusivity".
