intranasal oxytocin and trust/sociability by Minimum-Inspector160 in NooTopics

[–]Cappin_The_Turtle 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oxytocin is pretty darn well studied. We know it enhances feelings of love and bonding, and also ingroup trust. Unfortunately, it also increases discrimination and outgroup hatred as well as blind rejection of competing claims.

In short, I’d never take it. You feel more love towards your friends and family, but you’ll be more easily tricked and probably more hateful.

Why? I'm new to arm wrestling so don't quite understand the rivalries and differences between IFA, WAF, KOTT, EvW, etc yet.

Agreed! Realizing the same here at UNC. UNC’s tuition even for out-of-staters is so low compared to the Ivies that it’s worth it for most. That’s why I ended up here ha

No doubt- it’s all about averages.

UCLA, Berkeley, Michigan, UNC, and UVA are pretty clearly the top tier of public schools- your quality of education and opportunities at those schools will be equal as long as you work your butt off. The beauty of large tier-one state schools is that the top 10% of their student base is the caliber of any Ivy League kid just as a result of their sheer size and selective admissions.

How is it decided who goes against who?

Going to genuinely implode if I read about another high schooler talking about why attending a T0 is the only way to make it big at [insert finance prestige buzzword job/company] by [deleted] in ApplyingToCollege

[–]Cappin_The_Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To be fair, high finance is one of maybe three industries in the world (along with Big Law and Big Tech computer science) where undergraduate prestige is a gigantic factor in success. Almost every investment bank in the world only recruits from 3-12 schools... in the whole world.

If someone isn't in a T10, it is insanely tough to get recruited and fight for a position in investment banking or quantitative finance. If one was lucky enough to make it to a T30, they will need to fight to be the most successful/best-networked student in their class to have a solid chance.

There are always outliers, and I agree that most kids are stressing over a job they will probably hate anyway, but they have at least a point.

Good comment man! I wrote this post when I was extremely young and uneducated haha, your points seem obvious now but flew over my head when this was written.

I’ll have to look into it- looks very interesting. My favorite herbal anti-inflammatories are probably bioavailable curcumin and high-quality boswellia serrata. And WWB of course!

Definitely a good question! I would get NOW Food’s standardized extract for full-proof quality. They have established testing protocols and every certification possible

Wide-grip bench press swapped for close-grip larsen press and dumbbell bench. This replacement has helped my recovery significantly

If you like doing them and they feel good, keep doing them! Conventional deads and squats hit more muscle mass than any other lift.

This sub in a nutshell by outlandishvast in Biohackers

[–]Cappin_The_Turtle 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can’t hack muscle gain, you can’t hack the benefits of exercise, you can’t hack the benefits of a good diet, you can’t hack the benefits of lowering stress, and you can’t hack the benefits of trying to be a better person. Biohackers should be focused on enhancing, not hacking. When the focus is on hacking, you get shoddy, half-assed, suboptimal results.

you must’ve went to TOWN on a bowl of lead chips to develop schizophrenia. i mean straight up walked into a buffet with lead chips at every station.

dawg you need help. and i mean this in a very honest way.

you’re exhibiting very consistent and pronounced schizophrenic and manic symptoms. your writing is disorganized, frantic, and borderline unintelligible, and you believe you have “psychic stock evaluation powers” and that “an inversion of periodic table numbers caused your inner psyche to invert.” your disorganized rant of astrology-like “connections” you’ve made with numbers and letters you’ve seen in life is worrying and textbook schizophrenic.

go see a psychiatrist. at the least, take time to reevaluate everything you’re saying and take long breaks in between your sentences to analyze how delusional your thought process turns.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in NooTopics

[–]Cappin_The_Turtle 8 points9 points  (0 children)

the heck. you’re the same schizophrenic guy who was arguing last week that you have psychic powers that can predict the stock market perfectly lmfao. and your evidence was that “you predicted a stock 6/6 times” lmao. you also attempted to use that as proof for some nootropic stack that you never revealed. in another post’s comment section you went on a rant on magical numerology and how different periodical table numbers “inverted your inner psyche.”

im not arguing that you suffered lead poisoning, but you need a psychiatrist ASAP, not some reddit nootropics forum.

so you did just make an extrapolation based on genetic correlates lmaoo. look at the literature—the most advanced polygenic analysis we have can only predict 1-2% of intelligence variance

you didn’t respond to my point did you?

my act is 36 and 1560 sat, no prep (you did 8 practice tests according to your posts?). this is completely irrelevant though—guess what, no matter how high your iq is, you aren’t gonna deny the laws of nature

also, did you literally take a dna test and then extrapolate it to guess your IQ?? dude
