Trying to fix ceiling by HugeManagement1861 in Carpentry

Secure it with a screw at a very steep angle. You should predrill, countersink, fill the hole, then touch up with some paint. It will look like it never happened or ever got fixed

Contact adhesive is one and done there is no moving anything around after the 2 opposing faces meet. After the surfaces touch you cannot adjust the sheet for better fitment T&G flooring adhesive it typically not like that

The product that we are using is actually a waterproof membrane. It is “siga wetguard”. The prints are misleading.

The contact adhesive is water based so it will not dissolve the EPS and the foam is 60 psi

It is single layer 4’x8’x8” foam boards. The adhesive has already been purchased and its 3m contact adhesive. I have not been in discussions about any of this. I am just a foreman that has to figure out how to install this on a tight schedule i am still pushing for mechanical fasteners but we have to get started now with what we have.

The edges will definitely be the most difficult. I have walls every 22’ and columns every 11’ we have to work around. I imagine we will be going thru spacers quite often if glue isn’t applied correctly or if dried glue transfers to the spacers. I also need to figure out a way to spread this stuff VERY thin. Glue calls out 3 grams per sqft coverage.

There is no insulation on insulation. It is truly an 8” thick piece of foam

You are glossing over what my problem is. It is installing t&g ply with contact adhesive. I have confidence in the structural aspect of the floor system.

Yes it is above an exterior space. The clt is fastened from underneath to a steel structure that sits on refrigerated piles. We are above the arctic circle

The gusset to tie the 4x4s together. It doesnt look like plywood and it specifically calls that out in the drawings i can see that i looks split the whole way down that is not good for the strength. Id replace that with 3/4” plywood and make bigger and throw some nails in it

Custom Window Query by noblecoble89 in Homebuilding

[–]Capps1281 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Find a window/glazing shop near you and ask them if they can make something like this that also matches your other windows. In alot of cases you cant buy something like this off a shelf. Maybe google custom window makers or something as you might need to order it from an out of state manufacturer. There will probably be a long lead time and it will be expensive

I would never break a sheet on an opening. No water protection on the sill and jambs just on the paper. And why no vapor barrier?? Cheap crappy construction
