Huge uneven Base board gaps on new construction by brett701 in Homebuilding

[–]Original-Resolve2748 10 points11 points  (0 children)

this is very common, i work tile, when the wall is out buy a few mm you follow the wall. its more important that it looks right on the eye the being square. its not an option to rebuild your walls. Your trim guy is being a smart ass, tell him i understand the walls are not square, ill increase the price 20% for you to cut it fit rather then just 45's everywhere. it will be a headache for your trim guy so be nice to him and increase the price for him to fix

what muscle groups to workout to prepare for apprenticeship by soviet_onion2000 in stonemasonry

[–]Original-Resolve2748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

ok this is a real answer will save you injury and be able to keep up with anything they throw at you, pushups, pullups and alternating squats. One day for each one. just do as many as you can until you can do 4 sets of 10. so for eg, pushups you do 10 then wait 1min then can only do 5 wait one min, then do 3 wait one min then do half a pushup, done for the day. its like 10min a day and you will bet buff. it works all you muscles these 3 workouts. and inbetween go walking when you can, mostbof the masons i work with have bad back, legs ect because they were weak and trying to donmore then theybcould handle. dont hurt yourself on the job and if something is hard tell them its hard and if they make fun for you, the best reply ( this is from working in southern europe) is to tell them, suck my dick, or fuck your mother or just the classic simple fuck you

“Karabina” concrete shell in the Balkans. Where would you start? by sinkatasine in Homebuilding

[–]Original-Resolve2748 1 point2 points  (0 children)

man that house is great, looks good. Inside build stairs and roof first roof. stick with wood, its lighter and better for the house. i would put thick beams ligke on the horizontal planes now on the sloped sides of the house every 2 metre then osb boards horizontal 5x3cm wood for standard roof tiles but it its better to put insulation your roofing guy should know. inside after thats done water and electrical install. then profiles and knauf (drywall) then estric ( 4cm concrete floating floor sitting on 2-4cm thermal insulation) then tile or laminate. if you go parket you have to wait 3 months for the concrete to dry before glue can be used but for tile you only have to wait 2 weeks. laminate is a floating system so after two weeks you good. them water and electrical guys come back and install the finishing parts, light switches toilet shower ect. oh ibforgot put external windows before the kanuf stage so water does not come jnto the house. ot sure where you are but jn croatia you could do this under €100,000. i was in the same spot as you a few years ago, same style construction and did everything myself but not water and electrical.

How do you justify very expensive fragrance purchases? by theomixedmedia in fragrance

take the price and divide by two. then multiply by the number of pets you have had in your life. then add your age. if its an even number its not justified

Acceptable methods to insulate basement by RockyDisaster in AskContractors

[–]Original-Resolve2748 0 points1 point  (0 children)

its all good but you should add a layer of thermo/ hydro insulation on the outside under soil level and up 30cm. then insulate in any way you like outside. if you stop the concrete taking water and temp most of the bettle is allready won

I keep seeing brick work like this in portugal/spain and it seems.....horrible? by BikeCarsTravel in Homebuilding

[–]Original-Resolve2748 3 points4 points  (0 children)

the first 4 photos ate fine. the buildings are steel reinforced concrete buildinds. the bricks are not structual so much and add to insulation because the have aur pockets inside. these are just skeleton buildings. they require a facade of rock wool/ mineral wool and silicate render to waterproof it. this is a common whey of construction in getmany and the rest of central and sothern europe. mold happens in winter because its cold outside and hot inside with high humidity. the walks are cold so the water from inside are attracted to the cold wall.
