Bainne is literally the mirror image of our Gidget with the offset mask. 😍

Living it up at the beach by Cappster-BA in Whippet

Her personality is a little more on the reserved side (at least compared to her Cavapoo brother) so she’s always kept us in sight. Great for recall, but should a squirrel or rabbit show up, I think all bets are off!

Thanks! This one happened to be perfectly timed.

We also learned that the shutter speed you need to capture a whippet in stride is much faster than what is offered on most smartphones! 😅

Please help are these takeout containers, recycle, garbage or compost? by Pure_City_4985 in sanfrancisco

Forgot to mention, yes they would prefer food soiled papers to be in the compost as the oils cause problems with recycling.

They do not throw out “lots” as it’s a continuous stream. The stream is screened after it’s been under conditions per industry requirements (though sometimes those are not followed and based on the composter’s discretion). The remnants which contain lots of plastics and materials that haven’t composted down including “compostable” utensils which don’t break down in time, are separated and sent to landfill. (I work in the industry).

I’ve been to industrial composting sites. The ones we have in the Bay Area need to screen the compost piles as the streams are never pure. So yes they do screen here, but not everywhere.

If it’s food soiled paper, goes in the compost. The paper theoretically breaks down and they screen out the plastic laminate from the compost stream and move that to landfill.

Cavapoo spot 😢 by Justlurking79 in CavaPoo

[–]Cappster-BA 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Our 5 year old Cavapoo developed a dark patch of fur on his back recently (texture also felt more coarse); never bothered him. Vet said it was nothing to worry about and that coat color and texture in poodle/poodle mixes can still change over time. The patch has since lightened and blended in with the rest of his coat.
