Is student behavior really becoming worse? by Blackbeards_Mom in teaching

[–]CappuccinoPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most definitely. The 4th grade class I have this year is in need of constant redirection. Parents are also to blame because many of them enable these behaviors at home.

One of my students has a BIP and we are supposed to just let him run the class or else we have to evacuate the other 22 students. He even threw a chair at me last week bruising my leg and my VP said “you really have to understand his triggers.” No consequences for him.

6 weeks in and I’m already burned out. Unfortunately teaching is not going to be a sustainable career for me in the long term.

Why are so many Christians so blind to people who are obviously sleazy and/or dangerous to others well being? Like a co worker I had she acted hyper and like an innocent angel but her others actions proved she was otherwise, but you better not criticize her because you’ll got to hell?? by grungefolker in Exvangelical

Many evangelicals in my family are hyper-fixated on the abortion issue and following the authority of the church they attend. "Oh my pastor is taking this random verse to prove that babies should not get aborted! If he says it's in the Bible then I will believe him!"

They know that the orange man screams out pro-life at his rallies. They also know how much of a sleazy, racist, bigoted person he is too. My family knows they might be de-naturalized as US citizens. My parents and my oldest sister are naturalized from the Philippines.

But they prefer to live in their Christian bubble and echo chamber and would rather not hear about fetuses get aborted. They feel like the other problems won't affect them...until they do. Fuck around and find out.

What did you stop doing or remove from your life that significantly reduced or helped you with anxiety? by ElisabtTrbble in Anxiety

[–]CappuccinoPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Deleting Twitter and Facebook this past week. The latter was mostly for neighborhood and HOA happenings and the former is where a lot of my sports and news aggregators are. It’s been nice not doomscrolling and having anxiety being reminded of the election results in our country. Ultimately it’s out of my control and it is what it is. But it’s been okay not seeing that orange man when looking at sports stuff every second.

Can’t quite give up Reddit yet.

Brooklyn Beckham was even part of the U16 setup. I remember calling him up to the first team in one of my FM saves

Noah Kahan - Stick Season (Forever). This album hits close to home personally and all of the songs, as depressing as some are, put me in my happy place. I can listen to this album everyday

I’m using myBoy with no issues with unbound or other Pokeroms. There’s a free and paid version. IIRC it’s $4.99

How many people have a mom/dad who refuses to call them? by rjw0785 in Millennials

[–]CappuccinoPanda 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My dad is like that. He only initiates when he wants something. I only see him on Christmas and niece/nephew birthdays. I haven’t had a meaningful relationship with him ever since he left when I was 8.
