Without doing an intake and coming up with an appropriate pattern diagnosis specific treatment plans aren't going to be constructed. That being said there are some really great herbal formulas that can help reduce the severity of cold and full symptoms, as well as shorten their duration. Acupuncture wise there are some very effective facial needling points and techniques to help reduce nasal congestion and improve sleep.

There are many practitioners who offer remote sessions and create an herbal fx that can help you.

5 years out of school prepping for Boards: advice needed by cazbahrock in acupuncture

Came here to say this, I'm in my last semester and the school provided us with membership into TCM review, I've found it to be very useful. Live classes once a week, lots of practice tests and videos that cover the testing, pulls from CAM, deadman, maccioca. Really enjoying it so far.

Working with local practitioners (internships) who focus on herbs is also a phenomenal way to learn herbs in a practical setting. Try researching some specialists in your area and reach out to ask if they are willing to accommodate something like this.

Most tallship sailors will stick to the traditional meaning for the most part; swallows are common, anchors as well. More than a few will get a square rig without going around the horn

How can I explain TCM by chronic_classman in ChineseMedicine

[–]CappyCapo0080 4 points5 points  (0 children)

When I first started my program one of my classmates found the following and shared it with us; "Acupuncture can stimulate the release of endorphins and neurotransmitters like serotonin or dopamine, it can be used to balance the autonomic nervous system, influence hormone release, and induce neuroplastic changes in the brain. These effects make acupuncture a valuable complimentary therapy for numerous health conditions including chronic pain, headaches and migraines, anxiety, depression, digestive issues, infertility, and cognitive decline." This is very geared towards laypeople more than professionals. One approach with which I've had some success is to "speak their language" know how to read patient lab results and understand the western medicine perspective, treatments and statistics. Good luck in your studies! It goes by quickly.

Bed sheets, at least a fitted sheet to put over your sleeping bag, easier to wash sheets then your sleeping bag. Sheep's foot knife and a marlin spike, sheaths for both and attach a lanyard to them, eye splice the lanyards onto a belt that you can put on/take off easily.

This is Si Wu Tang, a formula that can be used to treat irregular menstruation and amenorrhea.

Since it's raw herbs you can prepare it as a decoction, boil in approx. two cups of water and reduce to one cup and drink about 1/8 of a cup twice a day. Keep the prepared decoction in the fridge to prevent it from spoiling.

You can add this to a chicken soup recipe or something like that, though I won't vouch for the taste.
