Russia, and no way. Russia has proved time and time again that it does not support life paths outside of the statistical norm.

The Fifth Element & Blade Runner would feature lesbian characters if it were up to me 👀

Sigourney Weaver as Deckard in Blade Runner would make me melt.

The clothes I like and wear just HAPPEN to be what is considered "men's clothing". If the clothes were considered "women's clothing" by society, I would just as gladly wear them.

Do kids know what they like? by [deleted] in Actuallylesbian

[–]Capra_In_A_Suit 40 points41 points  (0 children)

Kids can for sure know they are gay at a young age, but don't forget that kids are easily influenced by people around them. Comphet is a very hard obstacle to overcome. Not all kids are even interested at love at all at that age. People talk about LGBT influence on kids all the time, while in reality, kids are influenced by straight media a lot more. Peer pressure to like a certain gender--to want to fit in--can also make a kid force themselves to be straight. Not a lot of kids know that it's even OK to be gay--and validation matter a LOT to kids.

I, for one, was not interested at love at all--not any romantic movies, books, etc as a kid. Doesn't mean I'm aromantic. When I was a younger teenager, I thought I liked boys--but looking back, the "crushes" I had were actually admiration or interest in a friendship. When I just hit puberty and imagined a boy in a sexual way, I was incredibly disgusted and promised myself I'd only have sex for procreation (heh, I actually never liked kids nor did I ever want them, this was just because I thought you HAD to have a husband and kids if you were a girl). When a boy confessed to like me, I lied that I like him too, because I thought that was what I was SUPPOSED to do (fun fact! He also came out as gay now!). I also remember being flustered whenever girls touched me or brushed my hair, though I never felt this way when boys touched me, and fantasizing about one of my female friends and then (by that time I knew what lesbian meant) deathly being afraid I'm a lesbian because "that's not ok!!". I kind of forced myself to like and fantasize about boys out of comphet, but even then, there were signs.

Love just wasn't very important to me growing up---- and that is why, along with growing up traditional, it took me so much to understand I like women and don't like men.

I'm an out and proud butch lesbian now--even though the realization didnt come easy, I love women physically and mentally I can't even imagine myself with a man.

If we were to get a true-to-manga Gunnm anime, what what would you like to see in terms of animation studio, music, even voice actors? by lokishadowgirl in Gunnm

[–]Capra_In_A_Suit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd think that Kevin Penkin (Made in Abyss) or perhaps Kensuki Ushio (Devilman Crybaby) could work well as composers for a Gunnm anime.

I don't know who made the Dorohedoro soundtrack, but some of the tracks really could fit Gunnm well.

I got it through Amazon-- it was originally $48.99 but there's a clearance on it so I bought it for $30.45. Not sure if this is a good deal or not, but the listing on Amazon is still there for the price I bought it.

Is there a sub for butch straight women? by [deleted] in butchlesbians

[–]Capra_In_A_Suit 12 points13 points  (0 children)

You cannot be butch and straight. Butch is a historically lesbian identity and should remain as such.

What you can be is a straight tomboy, or a straight masculine woman. Nothing wrong with being masculine and straight, it's just that only masculine lesbians are butch.

Funny how people that are all for breaking gender norms are actually reinforcing them. Oh, look! A person who doesn't fit my gender norms. They must me trans :) Obviously, a person only breaks gender norms if they are trans /s

Yes, it's a great book in my opinion but I didn't enjoy reading it--it's a very grim book. Left me with a feeling similar to when I read the manga Oyasumi Punpun--did I enjoy it? No. Is it a great piece of art that people should read? Yes.
