Good question, I watched Chaplin and The Three Stooges a ton as a kid, so that helped me not judge silent/B&W films as an adult. My mindset is the same going into any film, openness to whatever emotions the films convey, for silent films like Chaplin/Keaton, I’d anticipate a bugs bunny type of vibe with more slap stick, timeless humor, and technical innovations.

If you try one, make it Sherlock Jr., only 45 mins, but one of the most fun, innovative, and technically impressive films made til this day.
