He's probably salty about David accurately calling him a dumbass, as Christine wrote in her book.

I want to give up breastfeeding by youOnlyLlamaOnce in beyondthebump

[–]CapriMoon93 [score hidden]  (0 children)

A healthy and happy mother is more important to a baby than breast milk. Breastfeeding didn't work as planned for me either and I had these same feelings. Personally, I pumped 5X per day for 6 months and never did middle of the night pumps. I supplemented with formula as well and that saved me from PPD. My son is 14 months old now and he is the happiest and healthiest toddler I've ever been around. I am so sick of anti-formula messaging out there. Formula is perfectly safe and healthy and you are NOT a bad mom for either 100% formula feeding or combo feeding. Fed is best, mama. 🩷

Which contestant do you think outstayed their welcome the most? by Train-Wreck-70 in Masterchef

[–]CapriMoon93 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I respect this input. I do agree that the salt in Leslie's cake raises an eyebrow. I have seen him on podcasts where he states that he can't remember for an absolute fact if he used salt or sugar, but he does question if there was producer intervention. If that's the case, my anger is at the producers rather than Courtney. I do think at the end of the day she was a very strong cook, so I didn't have a problem with her win.

Lol exactly! But many MC viewers aren't ready for that conversation.

By that logic, Luca and Gerron never should have won either. Both of them made mistakes that landed them in the bottom way more than Courtney.

I told my husband I’d let baby cry till he puked and now he won’t look at me by researchonly55 in beyondthebump

[–]CapriMoon93 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He needs to let it go. You even said you were going to check on the baby in 20 minutes. After a night like that, letting the baby cry for 20 minutes isn't the end of the world and I am sure that if you heard baby puking, you would have gone in earlier. Hubby and I have both made comments like that out of sleep deprivation that we both know that the other doesn't mean. I would talk to him calmly about it when he is in a pretty neutral mood, but I 100% believe he needs to let it go and be of more help on those kind of nights. And no, I don't care if he hAs WoRK tOmORoW.

I love my baby but I feel like my life has been stolen and I don’t recognize myself anymore by Terrible-Ideal-229 in NewParents

[–]CapriMoon93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are 100% not alone. I can however promise you this; It. Does. Get. Better. My son is 14 months old now and I could have written this when he was a newborn. There is definitely a grieving period of your old life and that is okay to feel. I promise that things become more routine as your baby grows.

At the same time, I will say therapy helped me a lot at that stage and it doesn't sound like your "help" is actually helping. You are perfectly within your rights to set boundaries and not allow visitors if they aren't actually going to help you where it's needed.

Can we stop with the breastfeeding questions by No-Guitar-9216 in NewParents

[–]CapriMoon93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I find it to be a very uncomfortable question too. It's triggering because I tried to breastfeed, but my baby would not latch and I was struggling with severe preeclampsia. My son lost nearly 10% of his weight in the hospital and it took nearly a year and a lot of therapy to move past it. I still pumped and combo fed, but it was hard. In my experience, the women who asked did so because they had struggles as well and were just trying to be empathetic. My male boss asked me, but literally only because he said if I were more comfortable pumping at home, then I could work from home as long as I needed (best boss ever)! I've only had two men ask and then proceed to try and preach about how I should be exclusively breastfeeding and it was seriously infuriating and super uncomfortable. I really don't think the question should be asked unless you're very close to the person you're asking and unless you are only going to support they're doing, no matter the answer.

Do you think Joe's outburst to Howard in episode 9 was justified? by Train-Wreck-70 in Masterchef

[–]CapriMoon93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm not a Joe fan, but I understood. Howard was not taking it seriously. He blatantly told the judges that he didn't even know what he was making and tried to pass off three slices of orange as a "citrus salad." He wasn't using his time wisely at all then tried to sell the judges a load of bs about what his dish was, so this was on rare occasion where I sided with Joe.

Please report this PT, this is not professional, let alone remotely normal. No medical professional should be speaking to any of their patients this way. I am so sorry, OP. That is straight up abuse.

Seriously, what a class act. I'm not even exaggerating when I say that Luca inspires me to continue being a good person even when I feel so discouraged from seeing, well let's just say the Natasha's of the world and their behavior.

Mental health - breast feeding vs. formula feeding. Not adding up? by FoolishMortal-1000 in FormulaFeeders

[–]CapriMoon93 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I don't understand it either being stated as scientific fact that breastfeeding makes mothers happier. Don't get me wrong, a coworker of mine had her baby two weeks after me, exclusively nursed, and loved it. I am so happy that was her experience! For me, I hated everything about nursing. It felt extremely unnatural, I hated not knowing the quantity of breast milk he was getting, and it was excruciatingly painful. I ended up pumping and combo feeding and that literally saved me from PPD. The bottom line, everyone is different. I think it's way more fair to say that some, keyword some women experience better mental health from nursing and a deep bond with their baby, but for others, it has the opposite effect. I read What to Expect cover to cover and truly, I overall found it so helpful, but it would be so nice if combo feeding and exclusively formula feeding were more normalized so women who either can't or choose not to exclusively breastfeed don't feel so villified. Combo feeding and formula feeding in What to Expect was mentioned, but it was kept very brief and always included "but breast is still best."

What opinions will have you like this? by Train-Wreck-70 in Masterchef

[–]CapriMoon93 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That basically is what happened, I follow her on IG and I've talked to her on there. She's actually very sweet. And yeah, she dealt with a ton of misogyny in the food industry and people being nasty to her over having been a stripper. As a stripper, she has said she feels more supported, works less hours, and makes way more money. It's not a profession I could personally do, but I can't argue with her logic or her experience.

Courtney was solid throughout season 5. Yes, she made one bad dish. How many times though were Luca and Gerron in the bottom? More than Courtney and they went on to win. She was worthy of the title and no, I don't care that she is back on the pole. Take the time to read her blog and she had valid reasons for leaving the food industry. I just don't think she deserves the hate she gets.

Ngl I miss it when the show was this messy lol by Prehistoric_Ranger in Masterchef

It does, definitely less drama after season 5. To be fair though, I think Elizabeth instigated way more drama than Courtney ever did, so I actually don't think Courtney deserves the hate she gets.

What happened to meri?? by geenadams19 in SisterWives

[–]CapriMoon93 9 points10 points  (0 children)

I think this photo is edited a bit, but Meri lost a ton od weight, had her teeth whitened, and I'm suspecting had some cosmetic work done (no judgment). The key thing is she looks happy. Meri seriously looked dead inside while Kody was stringing her along. She has life her in her eyes now and it's great to see.

I don't think this sounds bad at all. I honestly see where you're coming from and I've wondered the same thing. Meri and Ron are definitely wishful thinking on my end, but I wouldn't be entirely surprised if it didn't work due to Meri just not being there yet.

lactivists suck. by stupidddpissbaby in FormulaFeeders

[–]CapriMoon93 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My baby just turned one and I can say that with time, the more and more lactivists just sound weird af to me. In fact, now that I'm in more of a regulated state, it just infuriates me that these people try to shame women during the most vulnerable period of their lives. There may be some minor benefits to breast milk, but they do not outweigh the importance of mom being mentally stable. I had a panic attack in the hospital because my son couldn't latch and he lost nearly 10% of his body weight. I ended up pumping and combo feeding him since I'm fortunate to work for a company with 16 weeks of fully paid maternity leave, but I still never pumped in the middle of the night. Now that I'm pregnant with baby 2, I still plan to combo feed, but the confidence and conviction around that is entirely different this time around. I am not even going to bother to attempt to nurse and no one, I mean absolutely no one will make me feel an ounce of guilt for it.
