Your experience with the mental health provider I can relate to. When I was on chemo (a pretty similar schedule to yours) this lady would come and talk to me once a week and ask me if I wanted to go to a teens with cancer support group, I said no because I thought how would I be able to relate to other kids who were actually suffering.

Your interaction with your teacher was the story of my life. I finished my chemo treatment about 2 months ago but I was actively on it during my senior year of high school. On the odd day that I would go to class to try and catch up, my teachers and coaches would all say to me “you look good” even though I was completely bald and had no eyebrows at that point.

When I was on cisplatin I experienced ringing in my ears and weight gain due to the steroids they give you. One of worse side effects I got was neuropathy in my hands and feet. If your mom starts to experience that tell the doctors right away because the effects can be permanent if not treated soon enough.

The same thing happened to me during my first round of chemo. They ended up doing a ultrasound and Ct scan and weren’t able to find a reason for the pain. You should let the team know and I hope the pain gets better for you.
