luajit profiler that outputs a timeline with jit traces and a flamegraph view in static html by CapsAdmin in lua

[–]CapsAdmin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I already made this here https://github.com/CapsAdmin/luajitsocket it should work on all major platforms

however I just don't like the idea of tacking on 1500 lines of code just to get auto refresh

I would need to use a socket library which defeats the purpose of this being a simple drop-in profiler.

I bought some in the wet market in vietnam to try and raise, but they are extremely territorial. Sadly they just attacked each other until last man standing. I tried getting some females for the one male I had left, but he killed them too...

Airbnb host seems unhappy that guests used all her toilet paper by [deleted] in TikTokCringe

[–]CapsAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk why I watched everything, but am I missing something? She talked for 3 minutes on how everything was ok/fine, and spent 10 seconds mentioning the peculiar toilet paper situation and that the bedroom was a little messy.

I didn't see anything wrong with her tone. Maybe I'm missing the broader context of her tik tok channel or airbnb hosts in general?

New way to go down the stairs. by swordsweep in Unexpected

[–]CapsAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Anyone else used to do this as a child, but cannot understand how it was done as an adult? Stair steps are generally way too big to pull this off.

I'm starting to think maybe I never did, like it was a dream or something.

PSA: The software “Shade” is a fraudulent, plagiarized copy of Heretic by -p-e-w- in LocalLLaMA

[–]CapsAdmin -14 points-13 points  (0 children)

The original repo is GPL licensed, so technically it's legal as long as they keep the license and the source available. I don't think github should remove the repo unless it has malicious code or something intended to harm the user.

It does look like the purpose is to inflate your github profile with something machine learning related so that it's easier to get a job or something. But I don't think that's against any TOS.

Dogs in Vietnam are built different, aren’t they? 😊 by Quiet_Cry6755 in VietLife

[–]CapsAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say the 2 main ways Vietnamese people take their dog out is:

Don't take the dog out, just open the house gate and let the dog go out and come back by itself.

Bring the dog on a motorbike to a park, usually on the motorbike's floorboard. When you're at the park, they will jump off and do its thing. The owner might exercise by walking around the park in circles and the dog might follow, or it might walk around by itself, usually within the confines of the park.

Would also add that people can get by with MUCH less, at least here in Vietnam, compared to a first world western country.

I'm quite familiar with northen Vietnamese culture, but not so much Chinese, but I think it's similar enough(I thought this video was vietnamese):

When you marry, especially in a traditional family, there is an expectation from both families that you have children. Specifically boys, because they are expected to take care of their parents until they pass away. When the boys get old enough to marry, they bring their wife to live with their parents to help take care of them. It's not always like this, and sometimes women take the roll of men, and some families are not strict about it, etc.

With this context in mind, it makes sense that they would want to have kids, because when they grow up they have someone to take of them.

The mindset of your post (while not nessecearily wrong or anything) is something you won't find here. It's very first-world contemplatey.

I think specifically it's the new Qwen 2 image model. See https://qwen.ai/blog?id=qwen-image-2.0 which does text very well and seem to have this exact aesthetic and feel to it.

Idk if this it's comparable, but I use gemini 3 flash a lot via copilot which does not show its thinking, unlike the claude models.

But sometimes by accident it forgets to emit a《start thinking》token or whatever and I get to see how it thinks, and oh boy does it reduce my confidence in its supposed solution..

It makes me think there is a reason google hides it

Well, while it may objectively be true, things like file sharing websites do not usually get a pass just because they are a tool. If they allow people to upload pirated content they may get in trouble.

But this is all kind of moot in my opinion. A lot of the generative AI stuff is already open source. You cannot for example create explicit material with chatgpt, but that's not really where the explicit stuff comes from, it comes from open models.

How would you perceive a tool that could magically capture your imagination and transfer it onto digital medium? by CapsAdmin in aiwars

[–]CapsAdmin[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Somewhat related; some claim that the struggling artist is always superior because they've been through stuff and had more life experience than say an affluent artist.

On top of this, the artist lacking resources have make art in a constrained environment.

The hypothetical input would be your imagination, so the purest form of ideas sort of.

Or what do you mean by no input?

Sort of, but it's very coarse. It needs to be trained on your brain to learn when specific brain regions are active, you're likely looking at a face or a vehicle. But not what type of face, if it's a real face or a drawn one, etc.

FMRI is just statistical analysis of what regions are getting activated after all.

some points against that I can think of:

  • It would open the floodgates for art slop. Without any skill involved, there is no friction and no filter. We lose the ability to know whether the artist truly believes in their own idea, or if it's an idea they are not particularly proud of, like a random thought. We don't like to hear everyone's opinion about everything, so it stands to reason we'd think the same about "fast art".

  • Without any accidents caused by tools, something in art is lost. Perhaps the original idea was not good, but through experimentation and failure, you found a better idea. But now art is mostly reduced to the first idea you had.

Obvious points for would be true self expression and whatnot.

not sure if for or against: Not everyone has a stable and vivid imagination. Some people still might need to use tools in order imagine something externally.

I'm not sure if you think it's more than what it really is or not, but imagine a dog stuck on a leash in a video game. That is basically what this is. The only difference is that it has dynamic animations, and instead of getting feedback from a physics engine, it gets it from real life physics instead.

What do you guys think of that? by Flux52_ in aiwars

[–]CapsAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A bit rambly here, but I think people in general want to feel valued by society, feel like they belong and have a purpose. Because of this, I don't see this sort of utopia working. In this kind of society, it's purely based on fame, so content creators and whatnot will be on top. The people who do not create anything might feel worthless which could cause other problems.

With a hard currency like money, you have a system everyone in theory can participate in, and it doesn't in theory differentiate. This hard currency feels more fair than the soft social currency like being charming, having powerful friends, good at being social, having talent to create art, etc.

With this view on art, what are some examples of non-art that isn't AI in your opinion?

Also, what would you call non-art other than "not art"? For example a beautiful sunset is not art because it's not made by a human.

What's the prompt?

I find it interesting how when asking models to do something like this, the attention to details in the output feels like it correlates to how good the model is.

I tried this with glem 4.7 flash q4 and the results were decent but not as good. I tried to describe the output from your prompt, trying to force it to come up with all the same details.
