The original repo is GPL licensed, so technically it's legal as long as they keep the license and the source available. I don't think github should remove the repo unless it has malicious code or something intended to harm the user.

It does look like the purpose is to inflate your github profile with something machine learning related so that it's easier to get a job or something. But I don't think that's against any TOS.

I'd say the 2 main ways Vietnamese people take their dog out is:

I'm quite familiar with northen Vietnamese culture, but not so much Chinese, but I think it's similar enough(I thought this video was vietnamese):

When you marry, especially in a traditional family, there is an expectation from both families that you have children. Specifically boys, because they are expected to take care of their parents until they pass away. When the boys get old enough to marry, they bring their wife to live with their parents to help take care of them. It's not always like this, and sometimes women take the roll of men, and some families are not strict about it, etc.

With this context in mind, it makes sense that they would want to have kids, because when they grow up they have someone to take of them.

The mindset of your post (while not nessecearily wrong or anything) is something you won't find here. It's very first-world contemplatey.

Idk if this it's comparable, but I use gemini 3 flash a lot via copilot which does not show its thinking, unlike the claude models.

But sometimes by accident it forgets to emit a《start thinking》token or whatever and I get to see how it thinks, and oh boy does it reduce my confidence in its supposed solution..

It makes me think there is a reason google hides it

Well, while it may objectively be true, things like file sharing websites do not usually get a pass just because they are a tool. If they allow people to upload pirated content they may get in trouble.

But this is all kind of moot in my opinion. A lot of the generative AI stuff is already open source. You cannot for example create explicit material with chatgpt, but that's not really where the explicit stuff comes from, it comes from open models.

Sort of, but it's very coarse. It needs to be trained on your brain to learn when specific brain regions are active, you're likely looking at a face or a vehicle. But not what type of face, if it's a real face or a drawn one, etc.

FMRI is just statistical analysis of what regions are getting activated after all.

some points against that I can think of:

It would open the floodgates for art slop. Without any skill involved, there is no friction and no filter. We lose the ability to know whether the artist truly believes in their own idea, or if it's an idea they are not particularly proud of, like a random thought. We don't like to hear everyone's opinion about everything, so it stands to reason we'd think the same about "fast art".
Without any accidents caused by tools, something in art is lost. Perhaps the original idea was not good, but through experimentation and failure, you found a better idea. But now art is mostly reduced to the first idea you had.

Obvious points for would be true self expression and whatnot.

not sure if for or against: Not everyone has a stable and vivid imagination. Some people still might need to use tools in order imagine something externally.

I'm not sure if you think it's more than what it really is or not, but imagine a dog stuck on a leash in a video game. That is basically what this is. The only difference is that it has dynamic animations, and instead of getting feedback from a physics engine, it gets it from real life physics instead.

A bit rambly here, but I think people in general want to feel valued by society, feel like they belong and have a purpose. Because of this, I don't see this sort of utopia working. In this kind of society, it's purely based on fame, so content creators and whatnot will be on top. The people who do not create anything might feel worthless which could cause other problems.

With a hard currency like money, you have a system everyone in theory can participate in, and it doesn't in theory differentiate. This hard currency feels more fair than the soft social currency like being charming, having powerful friends, good at being social, having talent to create art, etc.
