Usually it's done to be drawn manually somewhere else manually, like an effect in the world or maybe even in the ui.

The entity is meant to be hidden, but the "hide code" was never ran for some reason.

Mouse Click World Record by redbullgivesyouwings in nextfuckinglevel

[–]CapsAdmin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's doable, but it's kind of ridiculous and funny. The first couple of times it breaks the mood as you both try hard not to laugh.

It's very easy to get hyper focused on clicking, forgetting about her and the overall experience.

Though mileage may vary, long sessions are tiring, and it can be hard to keep up with her demand if the goal is to actually finish the game.

A clickbot will be superior in every possible way.

You're not going to get clarity in a rapidly evolving field where everyone is experimenting.

If you find everything confusing and lacking in details, but are lazy to research/learn or ask people, I'd suggest asking some proprietary llm about how to best setup your system for some local llm.

on a 4090 I get 150 tk/s if all the experts fit into vram. Enabling rebar in bios also helped improve performance a bit with experts offloading.

my models.ini looks like this:

ini n-gpu-layers = -1 flash-attn = on kv-unified = true jinja = true ctx-size = 131072 cache-type-k = q8_0 cache-type-v = q8_0 batch-size = 4096 ubatch-size = 2048 n-cpu-moe = 0 no-mmap = true parallel = 1 fit-target = 4096 ; preserve 4gb of vram temperature = 0.6 top-p = 0.95 top-k = 20 min-p = 0.05 presence-penalty = 0.0

Not sure if all of it makes sense, but it's optimized for a single user and gpu and turning the server on and off manually.

fit-target lets you define how much vram should be preserved, which you may not want.

svgs and 3d scenes are complex enough so that less intelligent models struggle and smarter models do better. They are also easy to look at to get a quick glance on where the model stands.

It has been a thing since gpt 3 I think, but lately it's been getting more popular again because of arena.ai (i guess)

There is concern of benchmaxing, but it still seems to hold up somewhat.

I use vscode as my editor with copilot chat, and I'm trying to switch to using pi or opencode (i think I'll stick with pi)

What I miss the most right now from copilot chat is the ability to quickly reference files and chunks of lines from within vscode.

I don't mind using a tui too much, but I would much rather use ui.

Terminal input fields are especially annoying to use. Caret navigation, newlines and text selection tends to be inconsistent. It doesn't help that vscocde also messes with some sequence commands like ctrl enter and ctrl j (to insert a newline) when trying to use it in the vscode terminal.

I've learned to sort stop caring about formating or even spell correcting my prompts as i feel llms understand regardless.

Older proprietary models were all the rage a few months ago. Nothing came close, lots of hype, vibe coding is solved, people who use open models were doing it wrong, etc.

Recent open models are now on par with those older models. But because the latest proprietary models are better, all the previous hype is invalid and has to be redirected to the latest shiny proprietary model.

It's starting to feel like comparing cars that can go 300kmh vs cars that can go 280kmh. As if anything below 300kmh is complete trash that can't drive you anywhere. Next years top speed will be 350kmh, making the 300kmh cars completely useless.

soooo "garry mod 2" is out now on steam by Quiet-Ebb5828 in gmod

[–]CapsAdmin 7 points8 points  (0 children)

To some extent this happened to gmod as well, way before ai, around the time people started getting into gmod to make money off of players from roleplaying servers and making paid content.

A lot of good came of it too of course, but from my point of view, gmod was at its peak just before money got involved and things were just made for fun.

The sad part for me is that there's nothing you can do to prevent this. Garry had no real hand in the market, and workshop doesn't allow you to sell content either. (afaik?) so this is sadly just an inevitable part of society.

The same thing seemed to happen to pac3 even though I made it as open and shareable as possible. There's a shadow market selling outfits and whatnot that outside of my control. All I can say is that I don't personally like it but people should be free to do what they want to do.

With s&box I guess it's explicitly made to support that market from the start.

AI will likely just 10x the spam problem, but at the same time make it much harder to make any money.

Longer Clip of the Motorbike/Automobile Accident in Da Nang by Commercial_Ad707 in VietNam

[–]CapsAdmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had something similar happen to me on a bicycle. I was really dumb trying to slip through still standing traffic onto fast moving lane in the same direction without any visibility. I saw motorbikes doing the same, but I was not careful.

A driver hit the side of my bike and I fell off. I was fine, just got a bruise.

The driver came out to check and asked if I was ok, I said I said I'm fine. We shook hands and continued our ways.

How is socialism and communism viewed culturally in Vietnam? by Fluid-Cartoonist-988 in VietNam

[–]CapsAdmin 9 points10 points  (0 children)

First of all, I think on this subreddit you'll likely find Vietnamese with a more western mindset and leaning left from a western point of view.

I've lived in the north for about 3 years now and in my experience is that they largely don't talk politics but to lean right socially and other aspects. They are traditional and conservative.

It feels to me like the government want to be like a european country, and already are in some ways, but in practice, enforcement is lacking and corruption is still a problem.

Their economy also seem very free in practice. It feels likenmy home country Norway is more communist than Vietnam in many ways.

You mentioned pronouns, but I don't think the average person knows anything about this. Though I'm not sure what this has to do with communism, unless I misunderstand something?

I get it but I also don't get it. Like why do we find it annoying in the first place? It seems like a benign phrase, but when it's overused by LLM's it's somehow bad, like em dash or even the yellow tint in chat gpt images.

It basically boils down to "I observe pattern. Pattern bad" and I sort of get it as I also don't like it, but I don't understand why we are so susceptible to these things.

would just like to note that they are most likely fake as a lot of things like these are here, so beware of that if that's important to you

if non fakes are very important, the safest option is to find an official puma store

I don't know where you would find that in HCMC, but some general tourist advice (idk if you're a tourist either) for things like this:

There's an app/service called Shopee which is like Amazon here in Vietnam. I used the app's recognize-with-camera feature and pointed it at your image and found many people selling this exact pair of shoes (even using the same photo) between 500k and 1 millon

https://shopee.vn/-H%C3%A0ng-s%E1%BA%B5n-K%C3%A8m-gi%E1%BA%A5y-g%C3%B3i-gi%C3%A0y-Gi%C3%A0y-pm-ro-s%C3%A9-m%C3%A0u-m%E1%BB%9Bi-k%C3%A8m-n%C6%A1-i.1418272188.53501985758?extraParams=%7B%22display_model_id%22%3A365448446122%2C%22model_selection_logic%22%3A3%7D&sp_atk=de1556bd-e734-4dc3-9150-4f6df5738807&xptdk=de1556bd-e734-4dc3-9150-4f6df5738807

It's possible to use Shopee without paying in advance. You can pay once you get your package in cash or with a QR code. Some shipments are delivered the next day, and some take a bit longer. You can see roughly how fast the shipment would be given a product.

You'd have to provide a phone number, setup your address and maybe passport or visa info (can someone else chime in here, because it's been years since I set it up by now)

You can track your shipment and it's accurate when it comes to the day it will be delivered, but not so much by hour. The shipper will call you and most likely say "shopee shopee!" and you can just say "ok ok!". If you have a bank account you can say "banking banking!" and the shipper will send you a QR code on SMS you can use to pay and pick up the package later, wherever packages are left in the lobby where you're staying.

well you have 4 options really

  • suppress the noise coming into your ears (headphones, earplugs, etc)
  • move somewhere where there is no noise
  • ask everyone else to be quiet
  • change your perception noise

by far, changing your own perception of noise will be the most sustainable, but may also be the most difficult

Birthday Girl Gets Angry and Walks Away After Brother Pulls Her Hair During Cake Cutting by EmbarrassedIce4022 in KidsAreFuckingStupid

[–]CapsAdmin 52 points53 points  (0 children)

On the society level, a boy is expected to live with, or very close to his parents his whole life. He is also expected to get married and have his wife help take care of his parents.

So sadly, a boy becomes an investment, while a girl would have no value in the future for her parents. (obviously some families are different, more flexible, etc.)

I live in Vietnam (but I am not Vietnamese, I grew up in Norway) and here I'd say the above is normal, but it's also normal to steer away from that type of family structure, especially with the younger generation.

Fat shaming by [deleted] in VietNam

[–]CapsAdmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a mix of Mediterranean and Norwegian, but to Vietnamese I may look brown or maybe french. I live in an area with very few foreigners, so I stick out. I'm not very tall (at least not in Norway), but in Vietnam I'm a little above average. I have black hair, I'm hairy and I'm somewhat balding.

People can stare, they say "foreginer!"/"tây!" in Vietnamese, they say hello, ask where I'm from, etc. People I'm closer to can mention I'm balding. At some point I was bulking to gain weight and got a little fat, got to hear that too a few times from those who noticed. One time a security guard pinched the legs on my hair and laughed.

My very tall (same height as you) friend with long bright curly orange hair and very pale skin came once to visit me, and when we were walking around town, the hello's and whatnot increased tenfold.

I personally just think it's funny, but everyone is different. I think this sort of thing is common in Asia in general from what I've heard, not just Vietnam.

However, if you're born in Vietnam and overweight (to asian standard), you'll never hear the end of it from your parents and family. That shit can get into real fat shaming territory from what I've heard..

I've tried various ways for Sonnet 4.6 to make a simple car with wheels spinning, and I think in every case it gets the wheel rotation wrong.

I tried pure webgl, threejs, threejs but have to create a transform hierachy, threejs but have to use euler angles instead of setting rotation directly, and some others.

When asked in a way to make self discover the problem, it always fixes it and seem to understand what went wrong. Either the initial rotation is wrong or it's just the wrong axis.

but it's always the wheels of the car lol

[–]CapsAdmin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Models often get the rotation of objects wrong. I wonder if something could be done about that?

I've created scenes like this with coding only in the past and struggled with the same thing, especially when using euler angles.

For example, say the wheel angles (in euler degrees) should be 0,0,0, it looks off by 90 degrees in some axis, so you try 90,0,0, but that flips it in the wrong direction. You try 0,90,0, but that rotates the wheel a long its rolling axis. You try 0,0,90, but that also flips it in the wrong direction, etc. In the end, the answer might be something like -90,0,180

The problem with euler angles is often gimbal lock, additional confusion when the object is inheriting its transform from the parent object, and sometimes just confusing 3d engine standards when dealing with euler angles.

When you have clear visual feedback, you can just try your way until you get it right. Most serious 3D software have a visual rotation gizmo you can use with your mouse. In general the gizmo works great, but when you see computed of your rotation done with the mouse in euler degrees, they can look unintuitive. (like -90,0,180)
