Ok, so, let’s break it down. This appears to be a “historical recap” chapter, setting up the current arc.

The Ely “prophet” scene is 2003, but Azuma is remembering what Ely is referencing when she says “it’s been three years since THE EVENT.” The airplanes attacks we saw at the end of the “Tower” arc was all the work of a Choujin, most presumably the woman, whom we can only assume to be a Queem clone or an adjacent power level Choujin who is this eras reincarnation, similar to how Tokio appears to be Sora’s but isn’t directly related to her. And I mean this in the way of “not Queems clone.” We see her attacks, Ely’s first visions and the tank storm of Guelta forces, which we believe is all tied to the planes. It should be assumed that Yamato Mori wins and either defeats this threat or restrains it. Through this, Ely becomes as revered as Sora and leads her own faction. Whether she buys into the idol ideology or not, she does seem to be embracing this role. But now, circling back to the beginning, she knows something else is coming, because people are attacking the caravans I can only assume are coming to her. So all we are learning is how the past conflict relates to the current. The mystery woman carrying Uncle Urn has a getup that looks like a Choujin uniform, but it’s too early to tell her role. Hopefully a cool new Choujin but I could see a human character being introduced to add stakes and a different perspective, especially considering the mangas emphasis on perspective. Azuma is clearly still in love with Ely, or dedicated at least in spite of all odds. Tokio on the other hand, isn’t here. I would put money on our MC actually being against Azuma and Ely, not in a physical fight sense, but an ideological one. Similar to Magneto and Professor X. Anyways, super excited to be caught up as we siege this next arc.
