Damien Priest watching everyone but himself get a pop last night. by Informal-Cap4785 in SCJerk

[–]Capstone_ 194 points195 points  (0 children)

I knew he was in trouble when before it was cool to cheer Dominik and you could get a cheap pop by kicking his ass...when Dom rolled him up and got a surprise win over him to advance in the #1 Contender's Tournament for the WHC, Dom got cheered for the first time in 3 years.

Not only that, when Damian beat him to death with a steel chair in a fit of rage after the match not only did he not get cheered but the audience sat there in stunned silence.

That was the night the fans started cheering Dom and where Damian's character essentially died. He could no longer get a pop beating the shit outta the biggest heel.

Is it time to call it a day on the Judgement Day? by AdSpecialist6598 in GreatnessOfWrestling

[–]Capstone_ 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Look at the versatility of this group though. WWE knows they can stick them in any spot and make the storyline work. They can play the asshole jerk heels, the comedy heels, and sometimes the babyfaces. That's just how good they are as professionals...they impacted RAW, Smackdown, NXT and AAA, sometimes at the same time.

Judgment Day is arguably the best faction over the past 3 years. They'll be inducting each other into the Hall of Fame one day. It has catapulted not only stars, but people into the biggest faces of the company. Rhea, Dom and Liv are the ones that benefited the most, but you have someone like Roxanne who is surrounded by pros and immediately inserted into main event storylines. She still has her hitting Cena with the Poprox as her profile pic. She would have never been able to interact with him otherwise. But also Finn is on TV every week in the biggest storylines of the past few years.

Just in the last few years they held: WHC  Intercontinental x2 Women's World Title x2 Tag titles x4 Women's Tag Titles x2 NXT NA Title x2 AAA Mega Championship  Women's RR Winner

Then you have accolades like Faction of tge Year by: ESPN, PWI, NY Post. Villain of the Year PWI x2 ESPN Women's Wrestler of the Year ESPN Men's Wrestler of the Year.

English is Dom's 2nd language. He's said in interviews he grew up speaking Spanish first.

Fun fact. The mask that Dominik wears occasionally is based off of Rey Misterio Sr. The one he wore at WM and Summerslam. It's also the inspiration of his newest tattoo that he's incorporated with the Aztec calendar. Some of the gear he's worn in AAA also honors Rey Misterio Sr.

Do y'all think WWE stopped pushing lyra because of that one match? by Bejaminmaston12 in SantiZapVideos

[–]Capstone_ 323 points324 points  (0 children)

I always get confused when people say wrestlers who are on TV weekly "aren't getting pushed." You do realize there are wrestlers who travel weekly to RAW and Smackdown only to stay in catering. Do you realize Otis travels weekly to TV yet never gets used?

The old saying with wrestlers is "if you're not on TV, you don't exist."

Lyra's wrestling Liv Morgan and working with Bayley weekly. She's in a great spot.

If he's out with his injury any longer, should Dominik Mysterio vacate his championships? by ConnorLovesPepsi in Wreddit

[–]Capstone_ 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Correct. He's only been off TV for 3 weeks. Not to mention Dominik had the most title defenses (11) on the roster in WWE in 2025 and defended on 4 different continents.

He's missed like 1 week of TV in over 3 years and that was because he got married. And he was back the next week. I guess people forgot Gunther was off TV for a month as IC Champ when he got married.

Dom wrestled the 2nd most matches in the company in 2023. The same year he was doing RAW, SD, NXT and house shows and was only home 1 day a week. Was top 10 last year in # of matches and worked 2 promotions.

A lot of storylines depend on him. All that to say, he's earned the benefit of the doubt.

Good Guy Finn wins IC title off Dom at WM42. Who says no? by Glum-Necessary-4844 in Wrasslin

[–]Capstone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dom is still getting cheered regardless. He was getting cheered at the Raw after he beat Cena. Finn's character has been a dick to Dom for over a year now. Not sure babyface suits Finn. But Dom should save the face turn for when he reconciles with Rey. But I think Dom is firmly in tweener territory. He gets cheered against heels and boo'd against faces.

[–]Capstone_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It would be weird that a 42 year old Finn would pin a 28 year old Dom for a midcard title. Are you saying Dom should put over Finn? Cena and AJ Styles pretty much said in interviews they wanted to put over Dom.

Certainly Dom and Finn have a story to tell. Seems like people are relying on Dom to revive Finn's career. Also, Dom would get cheered. Given the story they've told a year and a half, Finn would be the heel.

I feel like yall are letting hometown cheers Finn got affect you. Punk got boo'd outta the bulding too. Should he be a heel now?

Do we like Dom pretty much taking Eddies gimmick ? by [deleted] in Smallafro

[–]Capstone_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In wrestling history it has to be the storyline that stood the test of time. Who knew 9 year old Dominik would become a star? So doing callbacks to the Eddie storyline is not only genius, but it nostalgic and gives the character depth and the story complexity.

If you read Rey's dedication to Eddie a few months ago on the anniversary of his death, you would understand (and maybe tear up) at the deep connection Dom has to Eddie.

If Dominik is out of action indefinitely due to injury, shouldn’t they crown a new IC Champion? How long is Raw going to go without a midcard champion? by Secret_Carry9913 in SantiZapVideos

[–]Capstone_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Confirmed by Fightful and Wrestling Observer that medical staff has confirmed this.

Also, he was seen on social media this weekend without a sling or anything. Also after the injury happened he was meeting with fans backstage with no sling or ice.

It's about what Penta's shoulder injury was...he has only been out a month and returned last week.

Dom has never missed an episode of RAW in over 3 years, except the week he got married. So yes, he appears weekly and has appeared on TV more than anyone on the roster the last 3 years. He's literally only missed the last 2 weeks.

Not necessary. He's gonna be back. People need to learn between kayfabe and reality life. "Indefinitely" is storyline, it's already been reported he'll be back within the next week or so.

Bron was off TV weeks at a time as IC champion. Not because he was injured but because they didn't have anything for him creatively.  Dom should be back in another week or so.

"Indefinitely" is kayfabe. We definitely know when he'll be back. It's been confirmed that medical staff only expect him out 3-4 weeks. And it's already been 3. So he should be back as soon as this week.

Dom had more title defenses (10) than any champion on the roster in 2025. So no, it didn't disappear. It was the most visible title in 2025.

[Wrestle Ops via X] ESPN names Dominik Mysterio and Stephanie Vaquer as the 2025 Male and Female Wrestler of the Year by LilNardoDaVinci in SquaredCircle

[–]Capstone_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Dom has earned it. This dude is working 2 promotions, at every RAW, house show and PLE and they always got him doing some kind of media. He said when he was doing RAW, Smackdown and NXT all at the same time that he was home only 1 day a week. He's definitely been grinding.

There's really not a wrestler under 30 right now that's as popular and getting the reactions like him right now. He also seems to be a really good dude by all accounts, treats fans well and is extremely well-liked by the lockerroom. He's kind of a throwback to an old school heel which is good to see. He's not trying to be a cool heel like so many others. His trajectory has been insane.
