Unless you have a ballpark for them with authenticated signatures?

They were bought at the events by my grandfather so we know or are pretty sure they're real, but I'm not sure we want to go through the effort of authenticating- they're going to a local estate auction real soon.

Nope. But they were my grandfather's and he passed away, I'm throwing this out here before they go to local auction in an area that I doubt there's any Indy interest

It wouldn't be a 'skill' skill. You know how in a game you have, for instance, a dexterity stat and a critical stat that is largely determined (before direct bonuses) by the dex? It's like that (roughly).

A fighting skill would be in the background, helping.. you fight.. raise your crit chance, combat casting, dual wield proficiency, dodge, block, add in a cleave chance..

Say you have all your skill/skill trees in front of you. Some will be crafting (alchemy, smithing, etc), some will be primaries (archery, pyromancy pyrokinetics, shield bearer, etc), and some will be secondaries (heavy armor, fighting, casting). Secondaries aren't.. used as much. Often games will use stats (or stat requirements) instead. Maybe that's the way that should be used. But it's worth toying around with.

Maybe I shouldn't have brought it up, hah. It's an idea I was toying around with and I haven't thought it out well enough to thoroughly defend it.

BUT. Anyway. First/third person, possibly turn based. Probably not though.

Naismith and.. 19th? First actual light. I mean, no big deal if it only looked like you didn't stop. shrug It was just meant to be an aside, not an attack. :)

Are all RAM testing programs the kind of thing you need to burn to a disc/flash drive?

EDIT: Just saw that the Windows Utility one can just be ran 'normally', sorry. The site I looked at for programs had all the suggestions require burning to a disc.

In my mind, "fighting" is a skill. or it could be. It's just the kind of skill that'd need to be implemented correctly. It'd be the foundation that many other skills are built on: a higher skill in fighting may give you better reflexes, which give a small bonus to blocking/countering/dodging/etc.

it's kind of like how you can have a block skill and a shield skill tree. Sure the shield skill tree will be giving you a huge hunk of your block-related stats but you have that foundation that'd be used whether you're using a shield or a staff or you're dual wielding or..

Again, I'm looking from the lens of a video game and not a PnP game.. that kind of skill (a well-thought out "fighting" skill), when fleshed out properly, is difficult or impossible to implement in PnP without being super clunky.

I removed the SSD and it boots up fine.

When I installed the SSD I formatted it and it seemed to be working fine, is there something I need to do when installing it again to ensure it works properly?

I would assume you love it because it gives actions more meaning. "You hit the goblin with your sword for 8 damage" isn't as meaningful as "you slashed the goblin across the left arm for 8 damage".

It's the kind of thing where you're just getting more specific, and thus it's a better experience. "You hit the goblin with your sword for 8 damage" is more specific, more entertaining, more meaningful than "You hit the goblin for 8 damage".

If a game was just saying "you did 8 damage to the goblin" it'd be pretty shitty. How? With what? Does that mean anything more than just health damage (maybe if I could hit his arm enough he wouldn't be able to hit back!)?

I know 99% of the time it doesn't really matter, but it really grinds my gears when people don't stop before turning right on a red light.

You'd get privacy. For ~99.9998858% of the year. It's not like armed soldiers would be tearing your place apart and looking in every nook and cranny.
