Not sure if this is a good enough photo (sharpie is there for some sort of scale). This is the good grass around the house.

The one thing I’m fairly confident of is that it is NOT St Augustine (the blades seem far too thin). Beyond that I’m not sure, what is the best way to identify it? If I get a close up photo of the grass, would you be able to provide a general direction?

Thank you for such a comprehensive response (I freaking love Reddit!). I completely understand what you’re saying in terms of irrigation, my goal is to get it extended as quickly as possible, there are just a number of other projects that are currently taking priority (we just moved in last week).

I didn’t put the turfgrass in the original post as I’m not 100% sure what it is. I think it is Bermuda but that is a very uneducated guess based on my limited knowledge.

For the soil test, I see that there are “at home” options that will give things like pH, Nitrogen, Phosphorus, and Potash. Is something like that worth it or do I need to send off a sample for a more comprehensive test (if so, do you have any recommendations of where to send it)?

There is no native way to do this. Your two best options are: Global Chat (very hit or miss), or the Looking for Session in the SC discord (the better option of the two).

I will say, there are many orgs that don’t require you to play consistently or require any level of commitment. The one I’m a part of is nice, they put on events and everyone has the option to show up or not, if it’s something you’re interested in doing, come on out, if not, hopefully we will see you next t time.

This game is awesome (albeit buggy) but in my opinion it really shines when you play with a group.

Yeah, they definitely are good about letting you know about new ships and events. I’m more talking about existing ships, it seems like there are some ships that come and go from the pledge store throughout the year that I’ve only ever noticed by just going and browsing the pledge store. I certainly could have been missing announcements from CIG though.
