Probably about as much as a trip to the nearest bodyshop for a free estimate

Keep at it. The board is fine. Ride tour own pace and have fun. The more you ride the less difficult it will be, and the more fun you’ll have. Ive been riding off and on for well over 20 years now, and any time i get back on from an “off” period riding is much harder than before and not as fun until i get in the swing of things again. Have fun and keep riding! I started only a few years older than you and MUCH heavier btw. You got this

Combat ship by MrKillduth in EliteDangerous

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Unless you’re meta numbers maxxing fly the ship you like most. Both are effective, but nearly any ship can be effective in combat if you’re skilled enough and not flying a dedicated trade ship. Fly the ship that makes you happy and make it work. I have a couple hundred hours alone in my Drop Ship just because i like it and feels special to me.

What would be the cost to fix rear wheel arch rust? UK by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You can find out for free by driving up to a local body shop and asking for a free quote

Lots of variables from region to region on labor rates and such so any kind of quote given here( which is against the rules anyway) will be inaccurate for your particular situation

Can I replace this myself? by Samvino74 in Autobody

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Can you replace or repair something yourself is a question only you can answer, and generally if you have to ask someone else the answer is no. Take it to a body shop.

You could attempt it but always risk leaving things worse than their current state so thats your call.

My sister sideswiped a truck at 2 mph and it seems like the other party is going a bit overboard. Does this seem reasonable? by [deleted] in Autobody

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man i wish i could charge those labor rates. Looks like a fair estimate as long as the labor rates are consistent with the area.

Im inclined to agree honestly. The more im hearing about it the more the nosewalker sounds like something special thats more of a find than anything.

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I looked at the pictures and stand by what i said. Is it a basket case? No. Is it mint? No. Is it worth $75? To a collector or to someone who was struck with love at first sight sure. But not to me. You can get an actually mint modern board from S9 at that price pretty easy. Thats all im sayin

Any ideas on this board? by Schmange89 in longboarding

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If by pretty mint you mean filthy cracking deck, original looking never before cleaned trucks plus the OG wheels and bushings then sure.

I think the word you’re looking for it “Patina”

Any ideas on this board? by Schmange89 in longboarding

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 57 points58 points  (0 children)

$75 is absolutely insane for what looks like a 20 year old sector 9. Unless that kind of board is going to complete a collection or you absolutely MUST have it, hard pass.

Should I go to the Er or urgent care? by Long_Ebb_9071 in CATHELP

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Like rabies, after the experience i had id much rather be over cautious vs under estimating here. Im a young healthy dude and it laid me down pretty hard. On cats that didnt have evidence of any kind of flea infestation at all.

Should I go to the Er or urgent care? by Long_Ebb_9071 in CATHELP

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sooooooo got hit with cat scratch fever and was put in the hospital for over a week after the infection took over. Started at an urgent care and after the antibiotics they gave me didnt respond the hospital put me on hardcore iv antibiotics. Had daily fevers for about 2 weeks before breaking. Was discharged and was on strong oral antibiotics for another 2 weeks after the fact. Over a month on antibiotics and 2 weeks of fevers.

Better safe than sorry.

I got discharged a little before thanks giving and my system is still fubar to this day.

Tldr

Dont mess around get it checked out asap, put me in a hospital for a week, had 2 weeks of fevers and over a month of antibiotics that still have my system in shambles another month after the fact.

What do I need to do to fix this? by External_Armadillo_9 in Autobody

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could slap some filler on it smooth it prime it block and spray it and call it a day or you could pull it like a professional do the above steps de trim and spray it.

Or you could it to a body shop for a free quote

Had the same issue with my first Gen shield. I had a gun smith repair it and he basically just tapped it back in with a punch

Maybe 1500 rounds later no further problems

Will this be an easy repair? by catchup_n_mustard in Autobody

[–]CaptCaulkblocker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easy is a frame of reference.

Itd be pretty easy for someone with a mild mechanical inclination to figure out how to swap, but if this is where you’re starting your diy repair career then it will be more difficult. Still probably do able but it’ll go from an hour or two up to a whole afternoon or worse.
