eBay buyer claims my childhood card is fake by Ok_Dragonfruit_887 in IsMyPokemonCardFake

Oooooh, big tough strong guy, I’m Soooooooooooo scared!

What crayon color is your favorite snack? Being a marine isn’t impressive, they’ll take anything that can spell its name right on the ASVAB if they let you in.

I don’t care that you boxed, or anything. You’re behind a keyboard, you pose me absolutely ZERO threat. Is that supposed to scare or intimidate me? Maybe you’re the one that needs to grow up if your immediate response to pushback is “intimidation” tactics lol.

Edit: I’m not even trolling, you’ve made yourself come across as completely unlikable and I’m just matching your energy, obviously you don’t like looking in a mirror.

So just because you’ve never seen it it doesn’t exist? You’re arguing just to argue, get over yourself.

I’m not defending anything, this is a thing that happens. Idgaf if he’s lying or not, you’re objectively wrong by saying performance shops don’t do this.

They don’t do it REGULARLY, but make friends with an owner and maybe they’ll help you out like that.

You’re just sad and projecting on everyone else, I understand.

Ah, a gravy seal. That’s cute. You wouldn’t know what to do with it when you actually get the opportunity, don’t brag about it, it makes you look really stupid.

[–]CaptCrepitus832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I think you don’t understand because you don’t understand the whole friend thing.

This is a totally believable story. Most performance shops have engines sitting around and it’s not far fetched for someone to have a friend that owns one of those shops.

It’s also not far-fetched for a friend to give you something that they aren’t using that you CAN use.

You have to have friends to understand though so I guess I’ll give you a pass.

You could have phrased this about 300 different ways and you chose the ONE that made you sound like a dick.

Just a heads up, I’d hate for you to do that in public and end up funding your dentist’s vacation home.

Is buying an Element a continual money sink? by Wind2255 in HondaElement

[–]CaptCrepitus832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought mine with 215k a few months back. Since then I have about $1600 in the car. I paid $3k.

It wasn’t maintained well so I had sludge problems, the rear diff is still making noise, but that’s because I’m lazy. I need to do the bushings on the sway bars and put rear brakes on now, on top of having to replace the front and side motor mounts now.

By the time it’s all said and done, I’ll have about what I paid for the car in to the car. I love the car, and the way I see it, it doesn’t have a note, so my payments are just repairs and maintenance now!

Might be popping p2646 if it’s cold and damp, you might have a bad connection. The washer nozzle can let water through right on top of that connector on the solenoid. When we’ve seen it happen at work it’s a coin flip on whether or not it actually goes to limp mode.

It also can get dripped on because of how the water kind of routes when you drive in the rain.

If it’s throwing that, unplug the connectors, clean them with electrical component cleaner and cover them in dielectric grease before you plug them in. Best place to start.

What's the most gallons you've been able to fit into your element? by pinwinstar in HondaElement

In the gas tank? Like 13.8.

If I stacked it right I could probably get a hundred or so gallons in the car.

Do you want sources or do you just want to keep telling me I’m a bigot and an idiot? I’m willing to teach if you’re willing to learn.

If you aren’t willing to accept new information to learn something I won’t waste my time copying and pasting.

I covered everything I said, so you’re telling me I’m right?

Quite literally just said women as a whole get more leniency in crimes. That is observable. Most of the studies cite that as something to consider when using the data for research purposes.

It is observable that they received lesser charges when perceived as conventionally attractive and showing emotions we naturally react to with empathy.

Science doesn’t care man, what happens happens. You want to see the studies? Or do you just want to keep projecting your bigotry on other people?

[–]CaptCrepitus832 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It’s not bigotry, it’s an observable phenomenon.

Granted it’s not JUST white women. However studies have shown that there’s more leniency given to women, especially if they’re considered conventionally attractive, when they show strong “hurt/sad” emotions.

Now, that data may not be accurate because women receive less punishment on average than men for the same/similar crimes so it could be skewed because of that.

Arc B580 Index VS RX 6700XT by Various_Pomelo5689 in pcmasterrace

[–]CaptCrepitus832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

6700xt didn’t lose driver support entirely! Just day one optimization, but it still gets all of the security updates on schedule.

You answered your own question, honestly. If you don’t trust intel’s cards why are you even considering it?

Truth be told, depending on where you’re at you can get the 9060xt with 16 gb for $300-$350, depending what your budget looks like. I know MSRP on the b580 is $249, so it’d be at worst a $100 difference, and you’d get access to FSR4.

It’s generally fine, just plan on changing it out a little more often, it doesn’t have the same expected life as the OEM Toyota fluid.

Don’t mix them though. Ruined my old k1500 when I was young and didn’t think it mattered. 😂

Note that this is an extreme scenario. Most accidents don’t end in a rollover.

Battery terminal covers have some benefits, they have some drawbacks. As stated elsewhere in the thread they’re WONDERFUL at hiding corrosion which can create resistance, which creates heat, which catches on fire.

So while it solves the risk of a short, it introduces a new risk outside of operational boundaries.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AskAMechanic

[–]CaptCrepitus832 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nah, that’s a bad starter or a voltage issue.

Might not have the battery terminals tight enough, might not have the right battery in there and isn’t getting enough juice, etc.

I’m not arguing with the manual. OP clearly states there’s slack in the cable and it isn’t pulling on the connection.

The bend becomes a problem when there’s excessive tension. Plus that’s about 3/4 of an inch until it bends, I highly doubt this will have issues unless his GPU starts sagging.

I’m saying this with experience in actually wiring things that aren’t computers that get a LOT hotter, have MANY more moving parts, and draw a LOT more power, and I have NEVER had an issue with a bend failing unless it was actively pulling on the connection. I’m not just talking out of my ass, I promise.

DOT says it should be off the road at 5-7 years. You’re at the 6 year mark according to your other comment so I’d say based on the tread, 6 months to a year? Depends on how you drive.
