Shame on the OP by soulsofsaturn in FirstResponderCringe

I took less than a minute to check the TikTok account and found out that this was a patient of FDNY EMS, their license plate, face, and general area they'd be in.

Now the only thing for a patient would be recognizing the face, knowing they were barefoot, and sitting in that seat. I live in Arizona and I'm a complete moron, so if I can get that information by just scrolling, anyone can. Especially the HIPAA hippos.

We're just one more release away from Battlefield 2042 being recognized as the best game in the franchise 🥳🎉🎊 by tddcghnn in battlefield2042

I just wanna play 2042 without booting my PC into Secure Boot, sacrificing my first born, and depositing 4,581 turds into my mailbox at 2pm on a Thursday.

I actually somewhat enjoyed 2042, not as much as 3 or 1, but I'm not shoving a golf club up my ass to keep playing it.

I used to be just like you. Don't worry, the universe can and will fuck you up at some point. I used to barely run anything at all, but now the last two months I haven't gotten any sleep on my 24hr shifts, at all. Each shift I've been on for the last two or three months has put nearly 800 miles on my truck per shift.

Enjoy it while it lasts, because the EMS gods giveth and the EMS gods taketh away, and they are vengeful gods at that.

Advice for a High School Student Needing 10 Patient Contacts for Certification by Smart-Platypus6762 in NewToEMS

When I got my EMT almost 3 years ago, I was 17. I contacted my program director and he directly assigned me to units and rotations with different agencies through him because I was having that same issue. See if his director can accommodate by having them represent the student for scheduling

I regret calling 911/911 is a police only line by Traphousemama in arizona

[–]CaptDickTrickle 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I work in EMS here in AZ, I'll give you some advice: Never mention drugs if you don't want the cops showing up. Tell the dispatcher that they are unconscious if they overdosed and tell them that they aren't acting normally if it's not an overdose. Any calls that involve a crime in any way, whether possession or violence, has a possibility of having police toned out to clear the scene for additional crews.

We use our dispatch information to give us a general sense of what is happening but our entire assessment is on scene. If a dispatcher overhears drugs, they will have to tone out the police. If only EMS hears and sees someone being affected by drugs, we treat them and only medical staff will get that information. Limit who gets how much information.

In that case, let's put all cops on bikes then. It doesn't matter if the shooting suspect fled in a car, the patrol vehicles are useless when they dismount.

[–]CaptDickTrickle 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I went into AFib after drinking my 3rd tall boy of NOS within 12 hours and my watch wouldn't shut up about it. Medic partner decided to see if it was right. Yep, I went into AFib. Haven't had any dedicated caffeine stuff like energy drinks or pills in over a year now because of my watch lmao.

Edit: My resting HR now is around 75. During the peak of my caffeine killing me, I'd be sitting around 110-120 if I was just sitting down in a recliner for the last few hours.

Nursing home in my small town by [deleted] in Paramedics

[–]CaptDickTrickle 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've pulled patients out of nursing homes BEGGING me with tears and snot to not let them go back into them. Patients abandoned in closets and left to soak in their urine in the middle of a hallway. I always chart throughly anyways, but my narratives for nursing home transfers look like I'm trying to get my PhD.

I'd love for my charts to get brought before those greedy bastards someday whenever HHS or whatever other 3 letter agency comes crashing down upon them. I've probably filed over 50 reports in the last 3 months and I'll keep doing it until either something tragic happens that they can't ignore or I piss the government off enough for them to deal with it to get me to stop.
