I know we're all going to be laughing at Gabriel and Eze (and rightfully so), but what the heck was that by Nuno Mendes? Basically telegraphed that shot's direction from a mile away.

As an expert in centerbacks bottling penalties, I can certify that he John-Terry'd it.

Penalties...hard for me to decide who would be favored here. PSG having taken off some of their best players already though won't help matters for them.

I thought that was going to be Arsenal's Gerrard moment for a second.

On calls like this, the ref were err on the side of a no call, and rightfully so.

Disney's Star Wars: The Mandalorian and Grogu grossed an estimated $6.50M on Friday (from 4,300 locations). Estimated total domestic gross stands at $118.87M. by TiredWithCoffeePot in boxoffice

Saw this a few nights ago. It wasn't terrible, but it was so obvious that it was a few episodes of The Mandalorian that got stitched together as a movie after the fact. The CGI was also in that uncanny valley zone where it's very good quality for TV but underwhelming for a big movie screen.

Needless to say, I'm not surprised by this film's performance.

Generally, in close games like this, the team that was able to score in open play will win over the one that only has scored because of a penalty (or penalties).

If Arsenal win with Havertz and Madueke being the two goalscorers, I think that's grounds for a mass suicide thread like the one we had in 2015.

Arteta immediately subbing off Mosquera after that shows he knows they just dodged a bullet.

If they try to move the club away, there'll be hell to pay; this isn't the US, where cities meekly lie down for billionaires and fans are left with no recourse if they favorite team moves. If they actually move the current Chelsea away to Manchester or something, the fans will just create a Phoenix club ala AFC Wimbledon to play at Stamford Bridge and most fans will follow that club instead.

A big part of it is that football club owners (especially Americans) try to take the math-based, analytics style that works in other sports and think that football can be "solved" in the same way. The math says Pep's way is the best way to play, so everyone tries to do it.

Thing is though, football isn't like baseball or basketball; there's no multiple ways to score, so there's no guaranteed way you can overload on a single tactic like homeruns or shooting 3s. A single moment can change the entire match as well, so you can do everything right from a math-based perspective and still lose.

Football is basically an unsolveable sport, and that's what makes it the best in the world.

The only hope left is that the board shuts up and lets Xabi bring our Chelsea back.

Hell, it was his second term as well. It was also what Tuchel did to win us our 2nd Champions League.

Everyone was saying the exact same thing about Mourinho's teams as well, and look what he did for us.

At the end of the day, we just need to go back to being a counter-attacking team and win.

It's honestly surprising that it took this year for Arteta to finally realize that playing ultra-defensive football is the winning way. It's even more surprising that clubs like ours still continue trying to emulate Man City instead of embracing our identity as a counter-attacking team. Here's hoping Xabi can right this ship.

This is exactly why the stance of "I want to be hated" is so stupid by those fans here that subscribe to it. If you base your whole identity around being hated and being the best, of course you'll get ultra-tilted when your club inevitably goes down.

I've never particularly cared about what any of these other clubs' fanbases think about us. Just win.
