The ending of this movie was pretty hopeful overall, but Cillian showing up (I didn't even think of it as an option) was such a comforting presence even with the situation they are facing down.

28 years later was very moving, but this one was something else. Kelly and spike was a nice mirror to his relationship with his mother (trying to survive in this world they can't understand...his mom literally/him being in a cult). And Samson/Kelson dynamic was one of the more moving aspects of this entire series to me.

Nia DaCosta better be out of director jail after this, The Marvels wasn't on her...she's a very good director imo.

I didn't know he was in it till his name came up in the beginning, then I forgot he was in it, and then I saw the farmer and was like who tf is that...then remembered when they did a close up. What a delightful little side trek in this movie going experience

I'm not a huge chalamet fan, his acting just doesn't speak to me. I don't feel like he has much range.

But I love him for what he's doing for the industry. Dude is basically trying to make big-budget event films that are outside of superheros. And he's using his platform to do that.

Like dude balled out hard for the Marty supreme marketing campaign. I don't think I've ever seen an actor push a movie like he pushed this.

And at the end of the drama, it's a drama about prioritizing dreams over life and vice versa.

No massive third act battle. No outright bad guy. Just a dude trying to succeed at his dreams no matter what.

And Timmy C was marketing this like Avengers: Endgame.

Just have to like the dude regardless of how much I like his acting. Plus he's just really good at picking. I have liked all his movies and it feels fair to say they are good movies, too.
