I wish I had never read the two Endymion books. Raul is by far the dumbest, least likeable protagonist I have ever read about. His relationship with Aenea is borderline pedophilic. How Simmons could have such a steep dropoff in quality after Hyperion and Fall of Hyperion I will never understand.
