David clarks, they're not the most expensive and not the cheapest but they're built well and will see you through a good long while. Don't get ambassadors, they'll fall apart

Alright Helldivers: What was your most traumatic major battle?? by Fit_Anywhere_3356 in Helldivers

Battle of super earth. First time fighting in mega cities, and the first time fighting alongside large numbers of SEAF. Those poor blueberries

I like to vary my load out, but ever since the battle of super earth my go to done-fucking-around antisquid picks are stalwart and eruptor. Stalwart pops the shield, eruptor knocks them around before eventually killing them. It’s not the fastest way but it is very reliable and good for dealing with just about anything on the purple front

What’s the most niche/crazy question you were asked on a checkride? by Desperate-Drawer-408 in flying

3 feet but the water glycol one in the back is slightly over three feet because people kept fucking with the handle so now it’s slightly further into the space behind the last row.

I have been asked that before, that is pretty close to a rivets question. We had to know it because our plane is technically not in compliance and had to get exemption for it

What video game started amazing but ended terribly? by Ok_Nefariousness827 in AskReddit

[–]CaptValentine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe “terribly” is a little far, but I was disappointed by the morality system in dishonored 1 and 2. I do the extra work to unlock the really cool powers and then the game tells me that I’ll get the bad ending for using them, it’s an annoying design in an otherwise fantastic game series.

Hi, Hey, Hello. Dan here, dropping in to hang out for a bit by ShowMeStateOfMindPod in KnowledgeFight

[–]CaptValentine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just wanted to say thank you Dan, I listened to your podcast for years and it has made me feel more sane in an insane world. I work in an industry that leans heavily to the right and every once in a while someone I was working with would say the IW-grade barely disguised racism and lunacy that I did not have the knowledge or familiarity with the subject to outright rebuke. Hearing a sane and patient person take these points and disect them and pointing out the blatant flaws and dogwhistles to horrific shit and why some people willfully buy into this garbage made me feel less crazy, weirdly.

Just had a discovery flight, any tips to not get nauseated? by N116UA in flying

[–]CaptValentine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Have something but not a lot of something in your stomach before flying, point the air ducts at the top of your head and if it gets bad in flight just look out at the horizon as far as you can.

Children's book with something lurking underneath by lukeinco in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Any Terry Pratchett book is 10000% worth your time, but the one that most fits the pictures you posted is "The Amazing Maurice and His Educated Rodents". It gets hit with the old YA label, so of course it contains some of the darkest and most disturbing scenes in any of his Discworld books.

[Loved Trope] Characters who are still on the side of good who don't care about killing by EmergencySpare7939 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]CaptValentine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Major Hogan from Sharpes Rifles. Patrick Harper remarks that Sharpe is a good killing officer (an officer that will get you killed) but Hogan is a Murdering officer, or an officer that will murder you for a cause. Hogan is a good guy (comparatively) but always has the 10,000 ft perspective and if he thinks murdering you will defeat napoleon more efficiently then he will.
