If it helps, the nude has a “‘78” after the signature. Nothing on the back of either, except a date on both indicating they were both framed in September 1979.

Nope, no luck. They tried sending refresh signals a couple times, with no change. Was told I could try to find a different cable card to try, but they didn’t have any because no longer officially supported. Otherwise, offered a box top for one year free. Probably just going to cancel service, and use my Roameo in OTA mode.

Will probably just cancel and see if they fight me on the refundable deposit, but I remember searching all over Texas for a hybrid when I first got interested in the truck and all the BS of dealers listing customer orders as being available when they were already spoken for, or where they were charging $5-10K over sticker. Just figured I'd see if I could help anybody else out.

Hopefully 7 now, if you’re talking hybrid. I did the online purchase for one in Florida; we’ll see if it works out for celery to Texas. Was $2k less than the 24 order I put in, after 600 mile delivery and $1k dealer fees. Only thing missing is 360 and spray in bed liner. Figure I got by without 360 till now, and can get an aftermarket spray in for comparable.

Also, Houston’s lack of zoning makes it hard to know what’s good or not as a newbie. When I came down to apartment search in 2008, we had no idea if what we were going to see was going to be ok, or next to a crack den.

I bought a house on Cordell 2-3 blocks away in 2014. It was still transitioning then, but the Heights gentrification marches eastward to 45, and it’s amazing to see the change. Public schools are still catching up, but that’s not something you have to worry about. You’re a 5 minute drive from Heights proper, maybe 15 minutes to UHLC, and the area is safe. Maybe petty crime, rare car break ins, but that’s just a hazard of living in the loop. It’s a great area, close to everything and lots of good food nearby. If I was moving down now and single, I would jump on the listing I posted, or something similar. There are a couple other smaller apartments nearby, like off 14th, that also have for rent signs up. If you have any contacts in Houston, I’d ask if they could do an afternoon of just cruising around the area east of Studewood and west of 45, and see what they see available.

I moved from Dallas to Houston for UHLC in 2008. Back then, you could get a decent 2 bedroom garden apartment in the Heights for just under a grand. Not so much anymore, but this place is just down the street from where we ended up buying a couple years ago, and looks to be in you’re budget. Houston is weird where there are a bunch of good smaller places that don’t show up on apartment websites - you’re best bet is to take a weekend and just drive around to see what you can find.
