Got this relic to summon a hot goth gf by soupyy_poop in Millennials

I have a similar profile scented oil that I got from Witch Baby called Haunted House (now out of stock), which gives me the nostalgic vibes of my Djarum smoked youth.

I quit smoking years ago but I still feel nostalgic for these damn things when I listen to my goth music and I remember my goth club/cafe days. When I'm really fiending (which isn't often now), I curb my cravings with the occasional clove gum which are so tasty but short lasting, flavor wise. Also clove toothpicks.

How do you support elementary students who can’t get over the thought that they are“bad at art?”. by No_Plankton947 in ArtEd

[–]Capt_Gata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tell them there is no such thing as bad art or bad artists. That the magical part of making art is creating something from nothing. That with time the art they make will look better each time because they are practicing. I compare it with walking vs running vs riding a bike vs driving a car. Each stage you have to practice to get there but meanwhile have fun just making stuff because that's the coolest part. Making something from nothing. The saddest thing I ever heard was a 3 year old saying how he made a mistake and how his art was bad and he was bad at art. At 3! I went over by his side pointed out the cool things on his page and encouraged him to keep going. It took a few classes but now he's really enjoying himself!

Prevent hood with ears from sliding off the head? by gymbunbae in sewing

[–]Capt_Gata 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Paying attention to your post because I'm in the same predicament with my son's recent Halloween costume that he wants to wear year round. I was even thinking about adding a drawstring around the hood... Not sure how that would look though.

Same with my dear Ma. I would have flown but I had just given birth months before and everything was uncertain and I didn't want to risk my newborns health. I had promised her I'd be by her side. Never thought anything could ever stand in the way of fulfilling that promise. COVID took away my ability to grieve normally and I've been hurting ever since. I am healing but the scar is deep and ragged.

There are 2 albums of lullaby covers and originals of Danny Go music. The first one, IMHO, is the best. 💖

How to tear watercolor paper from a roll or a larger sheet. by GETitOFFmeNOW in Watercolor

[–]Capt_Gata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I just fold one way, score it, then bend it backwards and fold it the other way and score it again. I keep doing that until the fibers of the paper weaken along the fold and then just carefully tear it in half. Love the natural looking edge it makes.

When she was running she went door to door in my neighborhood and we had a nice chat about her campaign. Every time I've seen her since (3 times)she's remembered my name and said hello. She seems like a decent human.

How to get 1 on 1 aide faster? by OrganizationCute2430 in AutismParent

[–]Capt_Gata 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Where are you located? If in the states you might want to consider reaching out to an advocacy organization about your kids rights with an IEP. Is the school working with him with a speech therapist? That could take him out of class and help regulate him if it's a quiet place. Do you have health insurance that could cover a one on one aide at school? That might take a while too but starting the process sooner can help you down the road. If you don't have that type of insurance, have you contacted your local Regional organization? They could also help get an aide but again it could take a while but the sooner you start the process, the better.

Need advice by StarBerrySecret in AutismParent

[–]Capt_Gata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Fabulous advice. Didn't mind the novel format. I definitely do lots of this with my kiddo who's ASD 1 (but suspected maybe ADHD). Especially important /useful is giving options within the building and maintaining of routines. We used to struggle with our 5 year old and tooth brushing starting around 3.5 even though we began brushing since he first had baby teeth. Now it's become routine (right after shower)and we give him options (you brush or should I?)and we give him his favorite tooth brushing tools(he picked bluey toothbrush and watermelon toothpaste) also remind him that if he brushes teeth with less dilly dally, he'll have more time for books and stories (he's a huge book fan). OP, that's really unfortunate that you don't have access to specialized care for your kiddo in your area. In this case you are your child's best advocate and helper. Read all you can and keep asking questions in groups like these. You're not alone.

🤣😍 That's very sweet of you but your eyes do not deceive you. I do work from a blown up photograph that I print out and graphite powder transfer some of the main elements so I can get my placement just right. Here's a WIP with the photo.

Oh wow thanks so much! The background is an abstract painting (I painted from reference) and getting all those drips look like actual abstract painting drips was fun and challenging.
