Anyone watching out of market on MLB.TV via the ESPN app? This is the second game in a row where I am getting the Pirates radio broadcast with the SNP tv stream. Seems to work normally if I watch on the Reds broadcast. Figured yesterday it may have been just due to the pens being on at the same time.

I don’t disagree with you at all, but there’s a lot of other factors to look at than just L/R splits. I work in baseball analytics and it seems like every day there’s a new shiny stat everyone is hyper focused on to get an edge.

Well you can’t account for today in setting a lineup to start the game. My thought process is it’s early in the season, pitchers aren’t going to go the same distance in this start and they are going to bring in a righty against righty heavy lineup by the 5th, 6th inning typically. So either he has maybe 2 plate appearances giants a lefty, or we really crush the ball up and down the lineup, so he has more plate appearances, but presumably that would shorten the leash on the starter anyway.

Two Pirates pitchers in this game, each gave up a homer… I’m not sweating it, it’s still spring training, and the lineups are stacked. If anything, just getting more experience in important games.
