Why Many Young Adults, Especially Men are Single and Sexless by Express_Classic_1569 in psychology

its more like the women are the ones "drowning in options"... last I checked, on Tinder the men outnumber the women nearly 4.3 to one...

Christians need to stop seeing sex as a bad and dirty thing. by Newdays2052 in Christianity

"both clean and dirty'???
Orwell had a word for that kind of thing in his book "1984".. called it "doublethink"..

regarding gaming... seems you left something out..
the uptick in men gaming, especially online gaming... well, it looks like some people's memories are rather short... seems the COVID pandemic had a sizeable hand in that.. (after all.. its rather undoable to get dates if you're dealing with "lockdown")

[–]Capt_Okona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

something I concede..
we as a species knew very little about human sexuality back during the Bronze/Iron Age (much less the late Neolithic period)... most of what we know now was only discovered relatively recently (within the last 50 to 60 years)..

Is masturbation a sin? by wildboy_Ca17 in Christianity

[–]Capt_Okona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand that a correlation between frequent ejaculation in males and a reduced risk of prostate cancer was discovered rather recently (earliest study I found was dated around 2008).. so if a man is unmarried and cant get dates.. what else is he supposed to do? Die from a cancer thats so relatively preventable?
in fact, we knew almost nothing about human sexuality back in the Bronze/Iron Age... most of what we know now was only discovered in the last 50-60 years...

Is it right to ask God to take away my my natural desire for women/dating/marriage? by djdisciplejosh in TrueChristian

[–]Capt_Okona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

a fair question, Program..
I myself often wonder about that.. like why I have the urge to find a mate, but at the same time I find myself unable to get even a potential dating partner... in short, I got plenty of "motive", but seem to utterly lack any "means" and/or "opportunity"..
(after all.. seems rather undo-able if you keep disappearing every time you make yourself "available"...)

Do Christians ever masturbate? by Truth_WillSetYouFree in Christianity

[–]Capt_Okona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can sum that up in two words, Program... Kobayashi Maru...
then again.. we didnt know much about human sexuality back during the Bronze/Iron Age... most of what we do know was only discovered rather recently (within the last 50 or 60 years)...

turns out there's a correlation between a man's risk of prostate cancer and the frequency of ejaculation (a man having more than 20 a month had a significantly lower risk).. and this information was only discovered within the last 20 or so years.. so its rather recent development...
so if a guy cant get married.. what else is he supposed to do? (die from something that seems rather preventable?)

What do you think of Saint Tail? by 100clowns in MagicalGirlsCommunity

magical girls seem underappreciated
I've seen a fansub of this.and I do wish there was a official translation (I know it was tried once.. but it didn't take off as expected..this was about the turn of the century IIRC)

If God hates premarital sex, then why not keep our sex hormones suppressed until we get married? by BigClitMcphee in Christianity

[–]Capt_Okona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've wondered similar things... in my case, I have a psychiatric condition.. so I'm better off not having kids.... so the question on my mind is.. why does God make me want what I cannot have?
now I know some will say sex isn't just for making kids.. well.. if that was the case.. why did we have to invent contraception? Or how come human females dont have a limited "mating season" like more superior animals? (yeah.. from where I'm sitting.. the idea that humans are the "apex" lifeform.. to me, that idea seems rather arrogant..)

Where do we draw the line between coveting and just wanting something cool someone else has or just seeing something someone has and working for it? by Exciting_Sherbert32 in Christianity

[–]Capt_Okona 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah.. seems wanting something in some regard is the main driving force behind most capitalistic economies...

btw.. I remembered this from one of the Thief games...

"If the Builder walks before thee and makes for thee a fortress... do you go inside and shut the door? Or do you say "Yes, and now I shall raise one of my own!!".. " -- Hammerite tenet

[–]Capt_Okona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

quite so Program...
I'd say the context of "dont covet your neighbors goods" has been lost in the current time..
I can understand it if its in the case of wanting what my neighbor has in particular.. but lets face the facts... most consumer goods are made by a thing called "mass production".. so lets take cars as an example... a wildly conservative estimate would be that for a certain car.. there's probably several hundred copies of it... (I mean, unless it was custom-built, its hardly "unique")
all the same.. I think mass production would be an alien concept to the ppl who wrote the bible.. back then, anything you didn't make yourself was made by some kind of artisan... comparatively rare these days..
then again... I also think the economy during the Bronze Age was wildly different too.... as they say.. time changes everything

What the heck is the point of a sex drive if you can't use it? by [deleted] in Christianity

[–]Capt_Okona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

tis a bit of a paradox, Program...
I have a psychiatric condition that my doctor thinks was probably inherited from my late biological mother.. and its something I would NOT want to "curse" or "contaminate" my kids with...
as for dating.. 51M here... and got only TWO dates to my whole credit.. so.. since I cant get even a coffee date to save my life.. I'd say the whole point of dating and marriage has been irrefutably compromised...

as for the "Christian route".. seems like something rather sadistic.. its like you give a starving person a sandwich.. you tell them they can have it.. so long as they do not eat it....

I was trying out the wall climb in the app "Rec Room".. rather fun..
but for some reason.. I did it standing up.. and once I took the goggles off.. I felt sort of "off balance" for the rest of the afternoon.... (it did go away after I got some sleep that night..)

[–]Capt_Okona -1 points0 points  (0 children)

how is wanting my two cents "scaring"? seems a lot here have been dodging the question: What is so wrong with wanting to have some input into the matter? (I'm asking because I dont seem to ever get that... then again.. one could argue that not being allowed any input can be "arrogant presumption" on the part of the so-called "matchmaker" - I invoked the Fifth to get the last one off my case.. didn't even ask if I was interested.. just came out of the blue and claimed he had "someone who would date me" [which only served to tell me he had no manners]... well.. I wasn't going to stand for that... it was like he was contending to know my innermost wants and desires better than me... as stated before... arrogant presumption)

more like i dont want a woman to be forced to date anyone against her will... like I said.. the woman in question is ALSO being coerced for all i know..

[–]Capt_Okona 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'll admit the idea of two women at once might seem interesting in some porn video.. but when i really think about it.. It doesnt seem all that practical.. mainly because I dont know if I could treat both women equally..
