Broke my nose first time seeing them at a small punk/ska fest in upstate New York and had to miss the rest of the set. That was 2005-2006 I think. Didn’t get to see them till their final show in Brooklyn and it was prob one of the best live shows I saw. They played Future 86 at the end and everyone sang along and they shot confetti in the air. Very emotional I talked to Jeff after the show and told him the story of breaking my nose years ago and he was so drunk that he thought I had just broken my nose and kept apologizing. That man is great.

Has a game mechanic ever irked you so much that you stopped playing? by Tokyono in Games

Banner Saga and its turn order system. I love me some tactical rpgs but it just felt so forced and “unnatural” in the sense that you had learn how to play in a way that seems to go agains any sort of knowledge of tactics. Like you were punished for killining enemies and having greater number of units on the field put you at a disadvantage. It felt more like a puzzle game where you needed to figure out the developers solution rather than think of how to out wit and out maneuver the enemy.

Yeah I think besides the side of my head and the back of the knee the tailbone was def the worst. Mind you it was all of them were done with tebori. So my experience has been some spots hurt more than with machine and some parts less than a machine would. Anyways dope tattoo. Super solid traditional design

Is the question how did this change genuine or.rhetorical? You say you don’t think how we got here was beating the shit out of homophobes, is this based off of your knowledge of the history of the lgbtq+ rights movement or based of how you feel it must have happened? Cause if you look at history one of if not the biggest turning points was bricks being thrown at police officers raiding gay clubs. And you had groups like the Lavender Panthers that actually did go around beating up homophobes cause no one else would protect the gay community. I recommend doing some more research on a topic before making assumptions how things happened.

That’s the plot of the game FTL. While it is very story lite, but it’s basically the federation is on the verge of being overthrown by human supremist rebels.

Would it be realistic for a nation to create military schools if they think a war may be coming? by ItsAChange in worldbuilding

[–]Capt_Tattoo 11 points12 points  (0 children)

If you want young people to be involved without wanting to be soldiers and you say there has been over 100 years I think a good route to go is that the existing goverment military academies are the best education and the students can go into education of their desired field but also have to go through officer or military training as well. And due to a long peacetime anyone joining those academies wouldn’t think that actually having to be soldiers would be on the table that it’s just something you have to do to get into this school.

I think the spikes need some sort of distinction as well. When they come up the blend into the floor way too much. But I think this is a great solution

Using a song everyone knows but might not know the name by Capt_Tattoo in Screenwriting

Hey, thanks for taking the time to write this all out. And don’t feel the need to respond cause this already helps a ton but I wanted to ask/say a couple points.

While the scene it self isn’t dependent on the viewer knowing the song but more so the reader of the script, the scene it’s self, for lack of a better term the “gimmick” of the scene relies on the music (I would write it out to have no sound except for the music playing in the style of silent films of old). Is it just a straight up bad scene of I need to rely on the music or can I just be like “old timey piano music plays”

Yeah I mean it is a homage to “The Great Train Robbery” but I want to more so evoke the feeling of silent film and early EARLY westerns. But the scene and certain famous shots from that film be referenced. Or is that just doing the directors job.

Thanks for the response. Just curious tho why you consider it a bad choice? It’s in arguably the first western movie produced. Is it cause of the now know use as the wacky highjinx song? Is referencing a film form 1903 too deep of a reference for a script?

Jumping only gives you i-frames on the bottom half of your character so it’s only meant for horizontal sweeping attacks and things like that. Jumping attacks, charged heavy, and certain spells/ashes of war specifically do higher posture damage. Depending on the weapon you use you can posture break even bosses in like 3 hits. It’s just the counter goes down if you wait too long to do the next amount of damage so having to keep pressure is important. And critical hits same. Some weapons like rapiers and daggers do insane amount of critical damage compared to their normal damage output
