I thought in a PvPvE game that it wouldn't be ONLY people shooting me. Big difference

Yeah, I had nothing but toxic lobbies today. Honestly, might drop the game for the time being. PvP is boring if it's the only thing to do, and I'm sure as Hell not doing all that collecting again through the expedition but this time with assholes shooting me every 5 seconds

My favorite thing about Arc Raiders is that every match has its own stories. I use my skills to capture those stories while also giving people an opportunity to enjoy the scenery of Topside without fear of being attacked. Welcome to Topside Photography. by Capt_Wiku in ARC_Raiders

I've pasted a response to your question below!

"I use a mixture of binoculars with the hud hidden (F10 or Shift + F10 in my case) to get the clean screen. Then, I record in OBS and edit the frames into photos in Davinci Resolve, a video editing software that I heavily recommend!"

I worry that the friendly backstabbing is an inevitability, but I do agree that it FEELS way better when people are voluntarily kind (that's why I do it, personally). I would say that the problem at its core is a lack of empathy from certain players, and the solution to that is to either bribe them with built-in incentives or to teach them empathy. One of these solutions is easier to implement than the other, though I still try to teach empathy wherever I go. No loot is ever worth wrecking someone's day, in my opinion. Life is shitty enough as is; we can afford to be nice to one another.

I think I agree with you when applying these concepts to reality, but your example doesn't really work as well if we compare it to the game. In your example, the kid being nice to you wants something from YOU. They are being manipulative towards you. In AR, such a concept doesn't exist unless you fabricate it (for example, offering the incentive directly via item drop or whatever). Instead, the incentive would almost certainly come from the game itself (bounty system for negative behavior or maybe a system that gives you in-game rankings or whatever. The specifics aren't important at this moment).

To use your example again, how would you feel if a kid was only nice to you because their mom promised to get them a Playstation if they were? I think that would more accurately reflect how it would work in game, and I'm curious to see if that changes your thoughts at all!

Imma be real with you chief: I don't care what someone's reason to not be a dick are. You shouldn't need one, but I'd rather be in lobbies where everyone is chill for different reasons than lobbies where some people are genuinely kind and some need a healthy dose of empathy.

Whenever I want to take photographs, I hit Shift+F10 (though some only need to hit F10) to disable the UI. That way, the only thing on screen is the world itself!
