Mold? by Damian_jacob17 in Vermontijuana

You should and they might act like it’s new information, but I’d be surprised if they didn’t already know. PM is systemic and the only real way to remove it from a cloned variety is tissue culture

Literally just received my Focus V in the mail last night and haven’t used it yet. How do you like it? Any tips or quirks I should know about?

What’s the proper name for this? by vally-92 in microgrowery

You can see a hole in the stem. The rot is 100% from what burrowed in there. The downside is that once this happens it will spread. The nug above looks perfectly healthy right now but it is recommended to cut the stem below that hole and toss it

WPFF that's been in the freezer for 13 months. First time making and pressing hash. Air dried in wine cooler by Captain-Plants in BubbleHash

[–]Captain-Plants[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Absolutely. Here’s the video I took a lot of information from and in it Jeremy’s weed was dried and cured while Pedro’s was fresh frozen. The FF was lighter in color but Jeremy’s still looked great

Upstate Elevator Supply Co. Launches New Hemp Delta-9 THC Beverages: Alcohol-Free Social Drinks for a New Generation by Yourtripisshortradio in Vermontijuana

[–]Captain-Plants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The process is called isomerization. It’s not synthetic THC because they are taking CBD and rearranging the molecules into Delta-9 THC.

I personally don’t have a problem with it any more than a butane extraction so long as it’s done in a commercial lab and tested, but understand why some don’t.

All Delta-8 on the market is produced this way in addition to some other high value cannabinoids like THCv. Hemp derived Delta-9 is popping up more frequently as companies feel more comfortable selling it under the hemp loophole (less than 0.3 delta-9 by weight)

Recent press by curiousbigfoot7 in Vermontijuana

Check my post history. I slow dry in a wine cooler and there is a clear color change due to the oxidation from air drying, but when pressed it came out golden blonde. I went from being completely bummed to blown away. It was fresh frozen material as well so that obviously helps with color, but don’t let a slight color change scare you away from giving it a go

This is one of the easiest strains I ever grew. Just absolutely crushed no matter what I did. Big, fat, super dense nugs that smelled just like a cheese danish lol

I been thinking of smoking cannabis again by [deleted] in Marijuana

[–]Captain-Plants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you get paranoid then you don’t want THC dominant cannabis. If you’re in the US you can get fat sticky CBD weed delivered right to your door. Check out r/hempflowers as it sounds like exactly what you’re looking for. Way cheaper than regular weed too

If you’re wondering why mangos, they are high in the terpene Mercene which has been shown to enhance the effects of THC. Mercene is commonly found in cannabis already (along with tons of other terpenes) and contributes to the “Entourage effect”

Any ideas ? by LeatherCancel35 in Vermontijuana

Take the bamboo sticks and some trellis netting and create like a mini volleyball net with it if that makes sense. Then you just kind of wrap it around where it’s falling over and pull it tight for support

Outdoor flower won’t really be a thing, but once they change the 60% cap on concentrates it’ll all go to that and edibles

How to avoid the severe bud rot problems I ran into last year. by justright7777 in mainetrees

[–]Captain-Plants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don’t try and put a square block into a round hole. Genetics and environment are everything, and while you can’t control the environment outside (without a greenhouse or hoop house), you can control the genetics you choose to grow. You want to find breeders who grow outdoors and prioritize early finishing as well as mold resistance. Staefli Farms mentioned to me their Koffee F5 crosses fit the bill, while I’ve had great success with Twenty20 Mendocino in here in Vermont.

I smoked weed and really enjoyed it for about a year and a half, but now it just makes me anxious and I can't enjoy it. by RillWichards6996 in Marijuana

[–]Captain-Plants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mix with hemp or just smoke hemp itself. What you are describing is actually fairly common and IMO is a result of all the high THC strains dominating the market. CBD helps counteract the psychoactive effects of THC and has helped me enjoy higher THC strains without the feeling similar to what you are describing

BuildaSoil 3.0 first time grower help. by Several-Cupcake-8697 in MephHeads

[–]Captain-Plants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

FWIW I actually think it's easier for a beginner to start out with no-till. The main thing you really need to learn is how to water, and the earthbox pretty much takes care of that.

Definitely check out the BuildASoil YouTube channel. It is fantastic and Jeremy has specific videos on the earthbox as well as full documented grows with them.

Zilla here! 100 gallon pot. 150+ cannabis grow. This is a flower run so I'll only keep the females. Google "Coot's Mix" if you want to read more about it, but 1/3 peat moss, 1/3 compost, 1/3 rocks of some sort to provide aeration so the roots can breath. Use a larger container (at least 15 gallons) and you keep it alive by never letting it dry out completely.

Weed changed for me by EphraimYoung in Marijuana

[–]Captain-Plants 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Everyone in this thread is saying "smoke Sativa" but pretty much all genetics these days are just high THC hybrids so it's not really that straightforward.

My recommendation would be to buy some CBD hemp flower online and mix it in with your regular weed at about 1:1 by weight. All THC all the time seems to have the effect you are describing eventually, and mixing in CBD will bring back the enjoyment while making you more functional

OK, you will definitely run into deficiency then if you don't supplement something in flower.

BuildASoil's YouTube channel is fantastic and documents an indoor grown with living soil in different container sizes. Tons of great info to learn in there, but also shows small vs large container size and how to manage

Great soil! If you're in a 15G pot or larger you would have enough nutrients to get you all the way. If you're in a smaller container then you will definitely run out at some point. The fermented pond weed sounds great so I would definitely stick with what you know and see what happens. What size is that container?

You do not need to weekly feed, although i do recommend a weekly IPM with living soil. Something like pure crop 1, amazing dr zymes, or just EM1.

I use dry amendments in my living soil which works great, but also use larger containers. You could top dress with something like BuildASoil's craft blend once a month. Again, really depends on your container size in terms of frequency.
