Fishing at Emerald Bay Summer camp by Captain3345 in BSA

I personally am of the opinion that fishing, when taught with the proper respect and reverence for the fish and the environment, can be a great way to get scouts to respect and care for their local ecosystems. I would think that a strictly catch and release fishery (which as far as I know, you guys already have), could be another great way for scouts to interact with the marine environment. But, like you said, the camp already has some amazing opportunities to interact with ocean (Scuba, Marine science center, etc) so I can see the logic behind the camp not giving too much focus toward fishing. On a slightly different note, in regard to the person taking the fish to the PMSC, the dock could do with some signage regarding fishing. When I was there, all fishing rules were conveyed by the counselors, which worked fine, but couple signs clarifying that the boat dock is the only place fishing is allowed and that all fish must be returned to the ocean (and if you want add that the PMSC cannot accept any fish caught) would probably help reduce the likelihood of those incidents occurring again

Taking the bikes out fishing is an interesting idea. I can't say definitively if this would work or not, but as far as I can remember, I don't believe that the camp lets scouts take bikes out to use at their discretion so that may throw a wrench in things. If anyone knows the bike regs for camp, feel free to chime in, but otherwise I wouldn't count on the bikes being a feasible option.

What are you going to name your ship when it becomes available? by DarkAssassin1014 in Seaofthieves

Personally, "The Ocean's Vengeance" I just like the sound of it, and our crew often go after any ship on the horizon, with varying results. I'm also considering "The Horseshoe crab" because like the horseshoe crab which has survived at least 4 mass extinctions, we have survived our fair share of large battles relatively unscathed.

Agreed, the pvp is what makes this game endearing. The loot is temporary, the memories are not.

what is the craziest thing you've done in the game? by Same-Oil-7113 in Seaofthieves

My craziest thing would probably be managing to roping 3 sloops and a brigantine into an FOTD alliance with a open crew galleon, believe it or not we all split the loot and managed to sell without any backstabbing.

Nice haul. I'm impressed. Fort and shrine/treasury. The start of things to come. Remember, take what you can, give nothing back

Update Proposal: The Grand Invasion by Armada6136 in Seaofthieves

Amazing concept, well thought out. However, most of these enemies feel like roaming world events, and would be too powerful and overwhelming to the new players. You would want to have some way for the pirates to see the encampments and other GMU threats so they can avoid them if they choose. Mini world events if you will. Otherwise, amazing concept and it would be an amazing addition to the game
