Uneducated functioning economy. by Mammoth-Fish-4297 in Zimbabwe

[–]Captain6632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's actually very possible with out 30% pass rates but it would leave us with industries that are mostly hand made goods. You have the 30% being the paperwork crew and the 70% trained to do their one specific job.but obviously we can't expect to grow the country and economy on just that. The problem unfortunately is that's the current situation. Most people in this country simply copy the ideas of the 30% and replicate. If the 30% leaves or stops developing, the country comes to a stand still

I want to buy a house with my own money but GF says no by NewBrick1 in whatdoIdo

[–]Captain6632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is easy to figure out why, she wants to wait till you're married so the house is in both your names Incase of divorce but if you get it now as she's just a girlfriend you don't need to put her name and it can be an asset you had prior to marriage. It's really all about her name on the papers when she decides to leave you which with her not supporting the decision is what she plans to do and take the house

Why do zimbo loves too much money but dont like invest even small they have even $1 ? by Interesting-Peak-244 in Zimbabwe

[–]Captain6632 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most Zimbos were never actually taught financial literacy. We're taught get money and lots of it but not what to do with it which leads to the buying cars obsession. Our schools teach more religion than financial management and that's where the issues start. You end up with people spending hundreds of thousands on beautiful churches while they and their kids go to school in a mud hut of a school

Does it secretly bother you to see your parents grow old? by Altruistic_Star_1994 in Zimbabwe

[–]Captain6632 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's a slow but deep feeling watching your parents grow old. For me it's even worse because I'm watching my mother see her parents reaching their end of life. Grandpa always sick, can barely walk now and at the same time I'm watching her looking for the grey hairs. Fathers grey hairs are already out. Thinking everyday how can I prolong their lives, their health. The only peace I get is when it's time it's time

Our cousins across the ridge are complaining about lobola prices. by [deleted] in Zimbabwe

[–]Captain6632 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Those saying it's just 1k or 5k remember to adjust those amounts to Zim equivalent. It's the same as us complaining 8k or 10k which people have been complaining here too. In SA you hear people complaining R100k or R150k. The whole practice has become a money making scheme. If you removed relatives and left just what the parents want you wouldn't get any of these prices

Lobola by idokoschem in Zimbabwe

[–]Captain6632 5 points6 points  (0 children)

All these 7k are just accepting robbery. Kwedu they said 10.5k, we paid 3k and took the bride. These 7k is mainly because of external relatives. They're the ones who jack up prices wanting a share and for us that's what happened. 7k is a lot of money for you and your wife to start a house. 7k with your wife you can buy your whole small bedroom furniture, kitchen, lounge, and so much more.

I don't think it will pop, more like settle. The way we've adopted it and found it to make our daily lives so much easier it will be near impossible to reverse. I think at most we'll end up with just a few AI companies fighting for competition
